Yuni The Little Flower

by Kazue Tsubasa
I am like a flower,

A tiny flower that can't live without water,

A useless flower that has a short life span,

A nameless flower that's helpless.

"A-Ah…Coughs-!" Blood splattered all over her white robe. The red liquid seeped into her clothes. Her hat fell to the group due to the vigorous coughing. All she could do was tremble in pain. No one cared, no one saw, no one helped.

I was far more fragile and weak,

But I was still desperate to live,

In this cold and lonely world,

I will cling on to anything.

The coughing stopped. Her breathe hitched and she calmed down. The pain lessened and she stood up on trembling, thin legs. Her sea-blue eyes were half closed but without a doubt, there was fire in her eyes. So bright and beautiful. Showing how much she wanted to just live. Even if she had no one, had nothing, she wanted to live. She will fight, she will withstand, she will steal, she will kill, and she will live. She walked away, using the wall as support. Every step she took was heavy and hard.

Pain is my friend and ally,

In this hopeless world,

It's the only thing that reminds me,

I'm still alive.

She was naked. And so are the other five men. They took turns, with no breaks in between. There were no tears, no pleasure, and no emotions. She was just in a daze, waiting it to be over. She didn't like all this, but she don't hate it either. Hours passed and they left. They were kind, leaving her clothes in fine condition and left some money for her. It wasn't that often that people would still treat her kindly after all that. There were also people who ravished her so violently she was out cold for days. Sometimes even her torn clothes were stolen, just to see her walk around naked – not that she minded. To survive, is to throw away even her own pride.

She stood up slowly as white liquid flowed down in between her legs. She picked up the money and put on the clothes, wincing a little at the pain she felt down there. But she gave off a small smile because she could now eat. When she took a step forward, her legs gave up on her and she stumbled ahead. Pain was once again awaiting her.

But then you came,

You showered me with water,

Took me as a part of yourself,

And so I grew up and lived.

To her surprise, she fell on warm arms. She looked up and met his eyes. She tried to escape, because she saw the uniform he was wearing. Police. She was done for. She's going to die and vanish from this world. She was taken away, and they both didn't exchange a word. She tried to run again but he tightened his grip on her tiny wrist. She fainted due to her weak physique. When she woke up, she was on a bed, with new clothes, a clean but surely tainted body, and food by her side. The first thing she did was gobble down all the food.

He showed up and they talked. He had taken a liking towards her, regardless of what past she had. She was given a new name, 'Yuni'. He showed her what love is and showered her with endless love. She was filled with so much love and learned how to smile like all the other girls. Sweet and cute. She could live on. She can have a normal life. She had someone now. She cried. She grew up.

Time flew past like an arrow,

The water source dried up,

But I will survive no matter what,

For I do not want to forgotten.

She turned 16. It has been months since she last saw him. She was in so much pain, missing him everyday like crazy. For the past 3 years she was with him, they made love every single day, for countless times. And each time, he would treat her so gently, as if she would break like glass if he was too violent. He would whisper sweet words into her ears. He would embrace him with warm arms. He would give him kisses and assurance. He would tickle her to make her smile. He would stay with her till dawn.

But now, he would only come once a blue moon. He didn't talk to her, and he treated her like a toy. He ignored her screams, adding more scars and made her bleed. No hugs, no kisses, no embraces. He left the second he finished. At least…He did it twice. At least…He still came. At least…He still wanted her. It's okay…even if it's just her body. She cried again. It was the first time she hated living. She felt so much more pain just by living. But she still has her memories. She cling to them so desperately. It was the only thing keeping her alive, stopping her from dying.

The flower spread her pollens,

But her baby was tampered,

She was still living but it was time,

To wilt.

She was pregnant. She was overjoyed, knowing she now has a family. She was glad and thankful for it's existence, thinking it was the right time. She thought he would come to her, and love her once again. She imagined how happy he would be. She wished the baby could be born sooner. Hope lit up her life once again.

She was disappointed when he never visited her, but still, she thinks that it would change when the baby is born. She sneaked into his house every day, even with the baby, just to see him once again. She chose to block out the familiar moans, chose not to understand what was happening, chose not to remember the scene of girls that were naked with a flushed face on top of him every single time she visited him. She went home, and lived. But she just couldn't forget his smile, his voice, his body, his love she saw back then.

But one day, without her consent, the little life in her was ended. She was fed something by him when he finally visited, not caring what it was, but wholly focusing on him alone. She fell into depression, knowing everything she had was lost. Things she never had before will remain unreachable. But she was still living, still surviving, in this pit of darkness. Regardless of all that, her eyes showed no sign of life. This shadowed the coming of it.

The bright orange petals dulled and scattered,

The large leaves dried up,

The flower wilted,

Her name, forgotten.

She used to beg him for his love, now she's begging him for her life. He looked at her with disgust. She tried to pleasure him once again, but she was no longer of use. Her body was dirty, it has been overused. She was no longer attractive, and looked like an animal that hasn't been fed. Her eyes were lifeless. Without any warning, in just five seconds, her head was now on the ground, separated from her bony body. Blood spurted everywhere and her head rolled a little before stopping.

She died. Yuni died. She was disposed of, and was eaten by wild dogs in the street. Many people walked by, but no one cared, no one saw. In the end, normal just wasn't suited for her.

And slowly…She was forgotten by the world. Her existence was erased. Just like a flower that wilted.

A heartbreaking, negative story. Cruel, but truly shows how the world is now. Selfish, despicable human beings.

Your identity is stolen. Your familes, friends and even your lover doesn't know you and instead accepts the fake 'you' as you. In a world where your existence is nothing and you're no longer you, that is my fear
