The new year

Free,
It's gone,
The past is in the past,
The present we may cherish,
The old,
The dark,
Those sins,
Those scars,
By this time,
Have all perished.

They walked in,
Then,
They walked out,
They mocked me,
I stayed strong,
Then,
They weren't loud,
The nature,
It fought me,
I didn't shout,
It scarred me,
My potential,
I didn't doubt,
That concussion,
It blew them away,
Who promised to be gods,
Yet I sat there,
The wind blowing,
Mingled with destruction,
But I bared it,
Never showed off,
Perfect, I am not,
But tell me,
Did I fall?
I remember,
Crystal clear,
The time I stood up for me,
Then on,
I never crawled,
Cos,
The hope was there,
New year in the air,
It made me,
Stay strong.

Skip,
Prance,
Trip,
Dance,
Flail,
When I got over it,
Because,
I thought I could,
I knew I would,
Positive,
I stay,
Flourish,
I may.

It has come,
They are hugging,
They are hooting,
How thoughtless,
What nonsense,
They cherish,
Like they'd seek something even better,
Than they had sought in the previous year,
Yet it's forgotten in a day,
What resolutions they had made,
But I, stand here on the grave,
Of the person who used to be me,
The one as pathetic as they were,
Yet I pushed and struggled,
And now I am truly free,
When I made myself believe,
That I was happy being me,
Now I cup my hands to wish,
To pray,
To stay,
The same,
The strong way.
