The Girl With The Gift

by M.D Khamil

Pastor Gabriel rushly climbing up
the stairs to get out from the basement but unfortunately, he was stopped mid steps
as Mrs Marr had already came back to bring him the coffee.

“Leaving so quickly pastor
Gabriel? I just made your coffee.”

“I have an urgent meeting with
the grand priest, so I’ll be back later.” He quickly went past Mrs Marr but
then she called him again.

“Pastor Gabriel? It seems that
you have forgotten to take along your watch and crucifix from the box.” Wide
eyed, swallowing his own saliva, he turned around slowly.

“Oh, for god sake, I always
forget things!”

“I’ll open the box for you. The
key is here with me.” The only thing pastor Gabriel could whisper in his heart
was, “shit”.

Mrs Marr opened the box and took
the stuff out. Pastor Gabriel was only behind her ready to take them and rush
out from the plaace.

“Here’s your watch…” Mrs Marr
handed it to him. “…and here’s your crucifix”. The moment Mrs Marr handed him
the crucifix she grabbed pastor Gabriel’s arm and gaze him sharply to his eyes.
“No one ever escaped this place alive”. Pastor Gabriel tried to resist, she
almost had inhuman strength, was she even human? In a flash seconds, Mrs Marr
let out a knife from underneath her bra, and stabbed pastor Gabriel on his
right arm. He was screaming in agony and blood was everywhere on the floor.
Then she turned to Melina.

“What did you tell him you little
bitch?”

“I didn’t tell him anything!”

“Liar!” and she continued.

“And do you know the consequences
for telling me lies?”

“No mother! Please don’t!”

Ignoring her step daughter’s
pleading, she walked to Gabriel who was now kneeling on the floor, trying to
withstand the agony he suffered, she stabbed his other arm, then both of his
shoulders.

“Arghhhhhhh!”

Melina watched in horror.

“Mother! Please stop it! Stop
it!”

“Oh, I will if only you tell me
the truth!”

“Don’t listen to her Melina,
believe in yourself and do what you should do. Don’t be afraid.” Gabriel was
panting and gasping for air on the floor, almost fainted, for losing a lot of
blood. Melina was enraged, for she had reach her limit. The whole room was now
shaking and the wall cracking, dusts flying around the air. Melina was not
herself. She saw the metal crucifix and lifted it up  the air.

“What are you doing? Put that
thing down!” Melina was completely outraged, no one was able to control her
now. Then at a sudden instant, the crucifix darting lightning quick to Mrs Marr
forehead and buried it inside her head. It was the most savaged and brutal
thing pastor Gabriel ever saw in his entire life before he finally collapsed.
