I found him standing still
Staring out at the purple sky
Misery etched in his misty eyes
As if he has seen his last sunrise
Death is waiting down the bend
Wondering if this war will ever end
Seasons came and went
and decades slipped by
But we're still plucking
flowers for the funeral of humankind.
War is terrible
Blood flowed in the streets.
"It's God's will"
Cried the widows and orphans
If that was God's will
then what it was the devil wanted?
Pride,Famine,Pestilence
They are enemies
We cannot fight
We can only endure
And hope that our strength
is greater than theirs.
