Part 3: I'm Not Alone, But Who Are You?

by M.D Khamil
What else can I do with my power apart from summoning things and resurrecting the dead? I wished I had never done this in the first place. I was so stubborn and selfish. Did I just regret things I have done? Yes. I am. Now it’s time to make it right. I tried so hard to attract my parents attention. Blast it! They’re ignoring me! And I saw this girl crawling on the road crying, her left leg seemed broken. My mom was getting closer to her. Just when I was about to run for the girl someone grabbed my leg.
“Please save us, we saw what you can do.” A woman probably around her late forty’s begging me. Behind her were some other few people hiding, scared and trembling. I didn’t answer and forced free my leg from her grabbed. The girl. She’s gone. I couldn’t see her anywhere on the road. Just my mom and dad playing salsa plus extra hurricanes and fire shows.

Strangely enough, mom and dad focus onto something in the sky. I saw a tiny shadowy figure but couldn’t see it clearly. As the figure descended down slowly, I saw the figure, now clearly a man, holding the little girl in his arm. He put the girl down with the other civilians probably the one he saved earlier. I couldn’t see his face because the man has his back view from where I was standing. The man has silver hair, with gold colored robe with alien engravings I had never seen before and a long mantle in red from his shoulder down to his ankles. I decided to greet him.
“Hey man, thanks for the help but . . .” I said. But instead he cut off my word.
“We will have a long chat after this. Prepare your ears.” He answered. I don’t know why but I thought his voice seemed so familiar. Like I have known this man a long time ago. Someone closed to me. My parents furiously attacked the man in front of me, but he blocked the attack with his weapon that looks like a long golden spear or probably his cane and it produced an element of what seemed to be like a high voltage electricity. Easy as pie, he sparked my parents and they turned to ashes. That was sick. This old man in front of me, with a speed of lightning now standing behind me. He pulled my ears and screamed loudly, “What the hell did I tell you about not to use your power to resurrect the dead? You ungrateful brat!”

That was hurt. Really hurt. He released my ears and I shook them with my hands to reduced the pain. As I turned back to see the man, how surprising this twisted drama really was.
“Grandad? You’re alive? How in the world?” I was shocked. I thought this might be a dream.
“You’re not dreaming. I can hear you. This is me your grandad and am well and pretty much alive.”
“But how? And what’s with the outfit? How the hell you can fly? What madness is this?”
“Oh boy, lot’s of question from this pathetic Son of Loki.”
“I’m a what?”
“Okay listen. I lived a double life. As a mortal on earth and as God of the nine realms. I am your grandad, Odin All-father.”
“Right. This doesn’t make any sense.”
“Nothing is make sense with that super power of yours? You are a son of Loki, your power came from ancient Egypt Gods and frost giants breed.”
“I can’t believe this. Why didn’t you tell me about this long before? What else I didn’t know?”
“You have a cousin.”
“You mean cousins. Not much that I know, and I’m not close with them either.”
“Your cousin at you mom’s side.”
“As far as I know, mom doesn’t have any siblings. She was the only child of her parents. Who is he or her?”
“He’s a descendant of a Greek god. Son of Poseidon. Percy Jackson. Your mom was actually Athena, God of Wisdom.”
“F**k me . . . Okay, I don’t know who’s Percy is and or what my mom is urghhhh I can’t process this information all at one time. Can we go and have something to eat now?”
“Sure, I think I’m hungry too.”
