The ways of the Drifter

by DavidBokolo
THE WAY OF THE DRIFTER
What is in the way of the Drifter?
Life to him is a haze of disjointed maze.
Thus, he clutches to slippery rail for support;
In life slippery voyage which litters with
Illusory glitters of a fairer weather.

Every new turn promises of a fairer dream.
Thus, he let go his grip on one point and drifts
To the next with high hope, but this was a
Mere Illusory glitters as the one before it;
Never knowing: not believing, thus he drifts.

So I cried out, “Halt that drift, oh Drifter,
Set your sight upon the glitter of your dream.
The twists and turns in life slippery voyage
Were mere illusory maze set upon your part.”
Thus, he lost his time and way in an infinite drift.

So I say,”Steer your course purposefully to your dream.
Through, the twists and turns on your part laid,
Set your sight upon the goal of your dream.
Like a flint, gaze upon the glitter of your dream;
Firmly, holding your course, like a captain in a tempestuous sea.

"Life would not present to you, desired dreams
In a platter of gold overlaid in a velveteen pad,
Rather, upon a rugged chipped off rocky highway
Buried deep in an ocean bed like a treasure chest,
And through a diligent search, thus reveal your dream."
