MAN OVERBOARD

by DavidBokolo
MAN OVERBOARD

Lost in a state of reverie
About the marvel of Creation
Brought images of things incomprehensible
Into my subconscious vision.
There are more things unknown.

Neither could the mind fathom
The sublime vast waters upon
Which the pillars of the earth were erected.
Revolving in motion like a giant Locomotive
Groaning and croaking, the crust bears the weight
Of million tons of its own weight

Upon the vast open waters
Dotted craftsmanship of many inventions
The ingenuity of God supreme creation
Man; holding sway, manipulating and exploring
To conquer, and dominate the world.

A peck he is, in this vast universe.
Neither does he know, nor feel the motion.
He can neither control nor halt this motion.
It spins and turns on axis invisible.
And sure and certain, it holds irreversible.

A cloud of melancholy over my thoughts
Cast a vision of a vessel at sea.
“Man Overboard,” howled the watcher.
The Captain halts and turns the vessel.
Fortune and fate he rescued the man overboard.

But in the great spin of the earth,
On its uncontrollable turns upon the axis:
There is none to watch; none to howl
“Man Overboard,” over the centuries.
Men have daily gone overboard.

There is no rescue, no fate nor fortune.
Men, tread carefully! Men, tread gently!
The thoroughfare is rough and slippery.
You are the watcher, you are the victim.
Oh Earth! Spin away in locomotive spin.
Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?
