“A New Lover’s Song”

by DavidBokolo
“A New Lover’s Song”

Loud and strident it sounded in my ears,
piercing through my disillusioned and warped state.
A condition induced by current societal
dislocation of morality; yet, soundlessly
I heard the sound, floating into my ears; a lover’s song.

It tenderly pierced into my soul that was drifting
in a whirling cesspool that had rudely enveloped
my rational reasoning, nudging me back to Him.
It was a new love song by Him that rescued
me from a clustered misadventures in time past.

It was a new song of Him whom my heart pants after.
I paused to listen, discarding the noisome distractions.
From the depth of my soul, laced in Seraphim’s blues,
I heard the new love song of him that ransomed
his life to redeem me, in spite of the father’s scorn.

This He did on account of my sins to bear.
His tone purring through the cacophony
of hazy distractions, brought to me the
lyrics of the new love song; a melody to a
weary and wayfaring soul, that’s mundanely worried.

“Look not upon what you see,”
”Neither feel what pain you bear;
I have not changed, from my spoken Word.
I am with you, forever with you, living in you;
I am your strength, your hope, and your friend.”

With my eyes shut, I saw the Lyrics as in
a bright glorious Angelic throng, fair and beautiful
to behold, heralding Him to my rescue.
Then I knew, He has always been around,
Waiting for a penitent drift like me, to save.

Whispering a new love song for my soul to renew,
He reached out with a glorious arm, tenderly calling
to all wayfaring souls, to cleanse and make whole
with His new love song, sounding so stridently silent,
But powerful to rescue all who discard the distractions
to listen.
