Two Sisters

She was all alone in the hospital but her heart was not weak like her sister who had just finished a heart surgery. Alice was very close to her sister Grace and it was first time she is seeing her twin sister bedridden. Alice and Grace were the only two children of Stephen and Mary. Stephen was a fisherman with a happy family and the only tragedy which struck the family was the illness of Grace. Alice and Grace had been loving sweet siblings ever since they were born and their parents gave them all the happiness and comfort they could afford. While Stephen fished, Grace did her share by attending a factory which manufactured clothing. However, they had a threat which awaited them since long time. The family had a curse which was cast upon them by their forefathers. Well, the forefathers were against the marriage of both Stephen and Mary and hence they had to overcome this burden. When Mary was 18 she eloped with Stephen and they begged their parents for acceptance. But they had their terms and both Stephen and Mary had to make their choice and this was to leave the region and migrate to a place where they can find happiness.Now both has raised a family and encounters a tragedy where their daughter is facing death. Grace was born healthy but she had weak heart since the age of ten . Now she is fifteen year old and is bedridden with a hole in the heart. But the family is getting perplexed and intimidated due to the poison Grace's body is reflecting as she is undergoing treatment in a government hospital. Alice is crying and Mary is depressed and all they could do was to pray to Jesus for a better life for Grace. But Stephen knew about curse and found solace with a healer as he had the answer for the curse. But shockingly, the healer was also a voodoo black magician and demanded Stephen for the blood of his daughter. So, it was a challenge for Stephen to get the blood of Grace and the only way he found to get blood was to cut her hand at night .It was a rainy day and as Stephen approached the hospital ,he could see dim light at the gate of hospital. And as he approached Grace, he saw that his daughter was asleep and as he began to slit her skin all he could see was blue blood dripping out of her wrist.Stephen was astonished to find this and as he turned his face he could see his daughter spitting blood. Stephen shiveringly took Grace by her hand and as he comforted her he could hear her saying"Father Good bye! and I love you ".
