Summer Heat

by Lorenzo A. Fernandez Jr.
The green curtain does not sway
on a sunbaked day. It only crumples.
The steel window stands sleek
and haughty but I hear it shriek
as it turns brown and crisp.

As I’m not both of these
I can only freeze the heat
with a lot of ice, gin,
lime, and polar dreams.
Let others and the author know if you liked it
