Mrs Scott`s finest sweetshop, a top popular sweet and candy little shop especially for regular customers and tourists. Given the chance any day of the week. A shop located in the outskirt of the small town of Hats field.
If you were ask to anyone living in the small town of Hats field if they had ever been to Mrs Scott`s finest sweetshop; the vast majority of people would say an overwhelming YES!. Too rightly so, Amy Davies thought. Seeing as many of her friends from her school would often tell her about visiting Mrs Scott`s finest sweetshop during weekends. And how the sweetshop sold such a wide variety of tasty candies and sweets. For such a cheap price for a generous amount of 100grams per paper bag.
The Mrs Scott`s finest sweetshop located slightly outside of Hats field, opened up its own shop doors just last year. It was mentioned last spring in all of the local newspapers in an article. The small building had to be refurbished, repainted to liven up the sweetshop and greatly dusted and cleaned from top to bottom. Which the owner of the sweetshop called Mrs Scott`s and her husband did such a great job of. And Mr Scott placed a couple of wooden shelves around the shop as well as by the shop counter. And from the very first day running their sweetshop business they had many customers coming inside the shop and passerbys looking from outside at their shop window display. Always displayed such brilliantly. Particularly on special occasions such as Easter, when they would display Easter birds made of milk chocolate tied with fine bright red ribbons.
It was now coming up to the half term school holiday in the middle of February. In a few months time the whole of the year ten students in Hats field secondary school, were to be attending a two weeks work experience placement. Working from nine o clock until four o clock in the late afternoon. Amy felt pretty nervous about the work experience prospect; even though it seemed quite a long time away from the present time. And also looking forward for her two weeks work experience in mid June. Amy Davies had arranged to do a two week work experience placement at the very Mrs Scott`s finest sweet shop. Approved by Mrs Scott after Amy had rung on her house phone to query about her two weeks work experience possibility for mid June.
Before Amy knew it, the Easter event and holidays had been and gone. And after this weekend, Amy would be starting her first ever week at Mrs Scott's finest sweetshop. She really could not wait. On her first day of her work placement on Monday she got up early to get ready and prepare herself for her first ever full working day in her entire life. During her first week working there Amy was shown around the shop by Mrs Scott. And shown how the shelves were stacked each morning and how the sweets were weighed accurately on the weighing shop scales. The shop on the inside looked absolutely fantastic, like something out a fairytale. The shop sold everything from tasty traditional rhubarb and custard hard sweet drops. Amy`s top favourite candies. All the way to fruity millions chewy sweets. All the sweets stacked on each of the shop shelves were arranged in alphabetical order. By the second week Amy felt more confident working in the shop floor, dealing with tons of customers and working on the shop till.
It really was the best two weeks work experience placement that Amy Davies did.
