Fire Of Caveat - Part 9

by Velantra
Veronica wrote her last exam for the quarter and was bored. She offered to plant some flowers in the garden for Michelle. She enjoyed the Friday afternoons hot and sunny weather. It was great being outside for a change and not studying the whole time.
She was busy digging a hole with a small shuffle when the mansions gates suddenly opened. She looked surprised to see a taxi driving up to the house. She frowned: “That’s strange, who will request a taxi? No one here requires to use it. There are plenty of cars, or her dad drives them where they want to go?”
Veronica hides like a teenager behind the scrubs when the taxi stop in front of the house. For some reason she didn’t want to be seen. She was totally blown away when she saw Marcha coming out and getting into the taxi. She would rather have expected it to be one of the cleaning staff. “What is that “Delilah” up to? It can’t be anything decent……why would she take a taxi? She clearly doesn’t want anyone to know where she is going.”
“Why are you hiding behind the bushes? What do you see? Hmmm?” Someone softly whispered in her ear, with a laugh in his voice. Veronica jumps up with a scream: “Golly! Carlton! Do you want to give me a heart attack?”
He looked at her laughing: No, why are you hiding?” She blushed and smile: “From funny guys like you…who shocks a lady’s out of her skin.”
“Oh, so I am funny and shocking?” Veronica didn’t know what to say: “Yes, no…what are you doing here?” Carlton doesn’t answer her. He looks up to the horizon. “The sun is scorching today. I was looking for Marcha, but she is nowhere to be found. Sophia is asleep. Are you up for a nice cool swim? Would you like to join me?” He looks directly at her. Those deep blue eyes and soft lips, he could kiss her here, right now…. he wants to, so much.
Veronica looks at Carlton, his black eyes lingering on her lips too long. She nervously answers him: “I, I, don’t know where Marcha is…. sorry.” Veronica decided it isn’t her business what she do or doesn’t do.”
She licks over her suddenly dry lips. Carlton keeps her eyes captivated. “Swim, yes….” She almost whispers. If only she could kiss him…. “I, ok, I will fetch us something to drink and see you at the pool.”
They looked at each other, their eyes locked. It was as if they were drawn closer together…. “Ok?” “Ok?” they turned in opposite directions: too scared to look back….

Marcha climbed out of the taxi: “You must wait here till I get back. I won’t be long.” The driver nods a " yes whatever" and turned up his music.
When the alarm sounds, the gates open. Marcha killed the cigarette that she was smoking under her shoe. She walks into the main entrance of the JAIL. They are body searched and security walks them through to the visiting lounge. Only women who are going to be released in the next six months are allowed visitors in the lounge.
When her Aunt Jolene sees her, she smiles excited: “Marcha! My dear, I’m so glad you came! I was wondering if I am going to see you. It isn’t long anymore, then I am home, free! I cannot wait anymore!”
Marcha hugged her aunt: “Yes, I cannot wait either, it will be great! The people in that house is driving me crazy!” Her facial expression change. “Well maybe not all of them. Johnathan is usually nice. I like him…”
Her aunt looked at her curiously: “Do you have a crush on him?” She asked smiling. Marcha said nothing, she just clicked her tongue.
“Are you sure no one knows you come here, love, or that we are related?” Marcha seemed a bit irritated. I told you, over and over again. No one has a clue, that we are family….”

What is going to happen next? Maybe it’s time, to hear more about Michelle? Her bipolar disorder? There are still so many secrets that the family is hiding……wait and read….
