Ejay, Sharmishtha and Samewriter, each received a letter from Velantra, printed on gold dusted paper with Festive little bells on it. She invited them to join her on an Island holiday for The Festive Season. It would be a dream come true for her: The four of them finally meeting, after all this time only knowing the person behind the computer.…
Ejay was very sad, his face turning sombre: “Collecting garbage from the rich neighbourhood wasn't easy” (1). “No man or company ever wants to hire” (2) Ejay. If he can find the money “will Christmas ever be different?” (3). “Struck with this problem, he went to his worn-out pocket which he always put under his narrow bed. He took it and collected the money inside...only 100 pesos” (4). How will he be able to tell them, he can’t afford it?
Sharmishta was also teared in two; she was worried about her new puppy: Pluto. She thought by herself: “I saw him one evening when the sun was just setting.” (5) She sighed, then again: “My mother promised to take care of him.” (6) Upsetting herself more she thought: What if “the main door was open Pluto ran out and was run over by a truck?” (7) No she is just being silly. She would love to go. The four of them were dreaming about this day for a long time.
Samewriter was thinking quick on his feet:
“Time flee fast
and it is never enough” (8).
He made arrangements to get on a plane as soon as possible. He would love to meet his new friends. He couldn’t wait to leave and see them all. It was going to be magnificent! When he arrived on the island he was sitting in deep thought, watching the ocean, thinking of a new poem to write. He smiled:
“I sit and thrilled
For I hear a familiar laugh.” (9)
A laugh like that can only belong to one person: Velantra. When she saw him, she cried; he embraced her and said:
“Let me help find it
Pick up the broken pieces
Of your shattered self
Even the very last piece I will get." (10)
Velantra said: “No, no, I’m crying because I am so happy to see you!” Velantra was jumping up and down like a little child. Her curly hair bouncing around. “Samewriter, you won’t believe me! There was this good Samaritan: His name is Gard, Sir Gard."
" He invited me to his villa and told me he had a gift for us!" She threw her arms in the air: “I caught my breath when I saw it! It was, the most beautiful, thing ever. A beautiful cruiser. It was remarkable in it’s splendour, it took my breath away.” (11)
They heard two people screaming with exhilaration. It was Ejay and Sharmishta. They told Samewriter how Velantra surprised them arriving with the cruiser and what an exciting time they had on the way to the Island. They were curious? "How did he get there so fast?" He laughed: “I took the fist plane out, as soon as possible!”
He looked at the three of them one by one:
“Yours is a friendship I will treasure
Will keep it in the cell of safeness”. (12)
The four of them had the best Holiday Season ever!!!!!
