Dreaded rainy days

by MinPerring90
It was exactly that today.
A dreaded rainy day.

Down in the little village of May field. It was forecast to be a rainy day yesterday evening, on the local weather news forecast. You know the feeling when it is going to one of those dreaded rainy days to come. The type of day that seems to stretch out endlessly and drag on. Especially if you have not got much plans for that particular day, time itself can really go on and on slowly. As Carrie Walker, an art college student, slowly got out of her bed at around six thirty on a Saturday morning, she then drew open her magnolia coloured bedroom curtains. And briefly looked outside of her bedroom window. Outside she could see the heavy rain pouring down outside in floods onto the ground below. And plenty of dark grey clouds looming ahead of her. Not a nice outside scenery.

Even though it was a Saturday morning and Carrie Walker, was off from Mere side college, she absolutely dreaded the occasional rainy day. Mostly on a fine and bright Saturday afternoon, Carrie would go and meet up with two of her best friends, called Molly and June Davies. And they all would go down to the local May field large recreational field, just located right next to the local swimming baths building and the children's playground. They would all three then, spend a good few hours on the recreational field, playing a good number of games of tennis. Which Carrie Walker especially, enjoyed playing. But this current weekend, midway through May, it was unfortunately forecast to be a really long dismal rainy day. Definitely not the type of afternoon to go outside to play games of tennis, let alone to go outdoors.

At 120 Darwin gardens, in a little Georgian built house, on the outskirts of May field, the Walker family household were quickly getting rather bored and feeling pretty fed up. Especially, Carrie Walkers two youngest sister called Rachel. Who was currently nine years old. Carrie Walker, decided to spend that morning, locked upstairs in her own bedroom. To try to drown out the current family`s atmosphere in the household. Best idea. And turned on her music system and decided to play some random soothing classical music and got started on some of her college still life art work. She got pretty much stuck into her art work, and the morning soon passed by fast enough.

Later on that Saturday afternoon, Carrie Walker decided that both she and all of her family, play one of their all round top favourite games. Especially on the odd dismal rainy day, like today. A board game called Pictionary. And Carrie ended up winning the game for once, she was absolutely thrilled. She had not won before until now. So maybe the dreaded rainy day was not too bad after all.
