Don't go away....

by Teddy Kimathi
So many times I have lost my poetry muse
It can’t be compared to missing your kiss
You are not an ordinary woman in my life
Going away will cut my heart like a knife
Always remember you are the reason I live
Everything in life makes sense because of your love
I know you have been hurt by my secrets
All my past has left me with regrets
You are the reason that I live today
Please, forgive me; let’s make a new day
A new beginning with you is all I want
You are the most wonderful woman I have ever met
Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?

August 1, 2015 - 15:18 Lol. Don't be scared. First, believe in yourself. Second, practice. You'll know your progress by joining sites like poetrysoup, which host contests, and anyone can comment on your work. If you realize you are doing good, submit your works to loads of literary sites. There is a journal I sent works five times, being rejected. The sixth time, a work of mine was accepted! ;-)

August 1, 2015 - 15:17 How should I put this. It feels like a lovestruck teenager wrote this piece because it feels so raw and real.
Teddy Kimathi

August 1, 2015 - 15:23 Thanks Koyaai. I can see you are so analytical......I took it in a teenagers' point of view! I remember in high school a guy took overdose of drugs, because his girlfriend had left him. That event changed my way of thinking about love, and what true love really is. My love poems were born from such observations.

August 1, 2015 - 16:06 That sounds like great material. Remember that being raw can be good or bad so try to identify when it's favorable or not.
