Diary (Day 11, 12, 13, 14)

by Lorenzo A. Fernandez Jr.
Day 11

I usually sneeze every time I wake up early in the morning. It’s not a habit but an allergy, allergic rhinitis, to be specific. Ah, I could have been someone else if I didn’t have this damn allergy. I have to blow my nose from time to time when breathing becomes difficult. This has been going on for years but I’ll never get used to it.

Day 12

I’ve just read a booklet about how to be a feature article writer. A feature article, it says, is one that contains facts and ideas. So I read some articles but they are full of facts and the ideas, if there are any, are so mediocre and boring that I would rather read the treatises of Aristotle on various subjects or The Prince of Machiavelli.

Day 13

I’ve got a severe migraine today. I can’t do anything but lie in bed. The trouble with migraine is that you don’t know when it comes and when it does, prepare for lousy day.

Day 14

The migraine eases up a bit, the pain tolerable. I can now resume my work. Am I having a real work? How can a homebody have a real work? But I’m no longer in a position to go out and hunt a job. I don’t give a damn if people don’t understand because they know nothing.
