Apoptosis

She lay awake again
Looking outside her window pane
Some stars above had fallen
Where do they go?
Eighteen years she'd lived
Making stories, scribbling poems But tonight she asked herself
Hey why don't I make a song?
Indeed t'was a lonely night
She made it all her selfish might
Her soul was filled with misery
She's shouting "Somebody please help me!"
She wrote the words that made her heart bleed
She poured her tears on the blank paper like rain
She sang the tune even a deaf don't wanna hear
She set the world on fire for a split second
Alone, betrayed, forgotten
And yes, she's got nothin'
Life screwed her up, bigtime
She began to cry
She took the photograph hanging on her bedroom door
She smiled at him, she breathed hard
She looked at him one last time
Her dreams of him are fading
She got the knife, she said goodnight
And turned the lights off
Silently, she pushed the knife to her chest
Before she falls to the floor.
