The tiny hut, is cramped with the Alkirbar's weak family. His 75 year old mother lay on the only wooden bed, coughing and wheezing. His thin and weary wife sitting next to her, using dried coconut leaf to fan her mother in-law. He sat there devastated, million thought running through his mind.
He looked at his wife. What sin has she committed to be married to him and suffer such ill fate? Daughter of a wealthy man, stepped out of her house in the name of love and has been through so much pain, holding strong and calm at even the toughest storm. Holding steadfast, believing in nothing but her pure and undivided love for him.
She used to get everything she ever set her eyes on, but now, she is merely covering herself with what can be regarded as rags. She has only 2 sarees, and both are worn-out and the colours have faded.
His gaze was now set on his daughter sleeping on the earthen-ed floor. His heart felt like it was being stabbed with 1000 knifes. She was covered with dirt, slept peacefully, unaware of the luxuries and basic necessities she was deprived off. How innocent could she be? For she didn't even realize that her parents were not even feeding her a proper meal? She was malnutrition-ed.
"Oh Lord, Why are you testing us so much? What sin have I committed to be the bearer of such a great sin, not being able to provide for my family? I can't give the woman who gave birth to me the medical attention she deserves, I can't even buy a saree for the woman who trusted me with her life, and I can't even feed the daughter who I brought into this world!", tears started flowing down his cheeks. He held his head with both his hands, feeling dejected and tired of life.
His wife saw his tears, and just before that tear could hit the floor, she caught it, and held it in her finger.
She sat down next to him. She gently held his chin and pulled his face up.
"I will never let a tear drop on this earth as long as I am here with you. Don't worry. We will get through this, together. Have faith. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Allow it to rain, embrace the rain. Only then, can we enjoy the rainbow that will follow. I have faith in God. The crops will grow. Oh my dearest husband, have faith. Do not cry, do not weep. I am here, we are together. We will get through this together."
As she held his face in her palms, he felt calmness and tranquility. Even if the angel of death called on him now, he would die happy, but he knew he is not going anywhere.
He now saw, his guardian angel in the form of his wife.
He now felt the touch of an angel.
"Alkirbar! Hoi Alkirbar! Come out! Come out and see the wonder of wonders!"
He heard his friend shouting excitedly.
He and his wife walked out and how astonished they were to see the tiny jewels of God dropping on their crops. In 10 minutes, it was raining cats and dogs.
Their crops are saved! Their crops will now receive the water they lacked, and Alkirbar and his family will be able to buy the food they lacked!
Alkirbar's wife shouted in joy, "Grace to the Almighty! Thank you Lord! Thank you!" dancing in the rain, spreading her arms, embracing the rain.
Alkirbar hugged his wife, "You are truly an angel. God shed tears, weeping at your pain"
