She gave up

by PenFairy
As she sat on the white sand looking out the crystal clear ocean, the waves racing each other and crashing on the shores, she played the thoughts that had been haunting her for months now.

She was a strong girl. She was rationale. And she doesn't judge people too soon. Maybe that was her mistake.
And often laughed when her friends told her that men are after only one thing. And she never believed them ever. Not until now.

Her faith in the existence of true love diminished when the one she loved broke her heart and destroyed her completely. She still believed in true love (though reduced.. She still did) even after she was thrown away like rubbish after she gave her all to him..within a few months.
Yet she believed in true love. She believed in a knight who would love her and show her how it feels to be completely loved.

And believed she will be pampered. The knight who will keep all good promises and treat her as the Princess she thought she was.

But, boy was she wrong.

You see, she doesn't know fake love. She gives with all her heart. And falls head over heels in love.
She fell in love again. She was disappointed again. Maybe she was loser prone, who attracts men who are only interested to see her as merely an object of pleasure.

Now sitting here, and begins to doubt herself. Maybe she had nothing more to offer. Maybe she is not worth receiving any form of love.
Maybe she is not "girlfriend" or "wife" material. Maybe she was a terrible girl who was unworthy of true love.

As she sat there, the waves that crushed on the shores told her only one thing.
"come play with us. We will never hurt you. Come to me and I will feed you."

She was hurting. The waves gave her comfort. She walked forward.. The cool water crashed against her toes and shied away quickly into the vast ocean. It was cooling. It was peaceful. And slowly walked into the foam... And slowly she was gone.
Did she find her true love in the ocean?
