Once the teacher asked her students to write an essay on, ‘What I would like to be’. They could write on anything they like.
When correcting the essays, she came across one that made her cry. Just then her husband entered and seeing her cry, asked what had happened. She handed him the essay and asked him to read.
Her husband began to read:
"I wanted to be a mobile. I want to occupy its space and live as it lives. Have a special place for me and get my family around me. Be taken seriously when speaking, be the center of attention and be listened to without asking questions. When I am silent, I want the same attention that the mobile receives when it does not work. Have my father's company when he comes home, even if he's tired.
Wish my mother look for me when she's alone, instead of ignoring me. I want that my family leaves everything aside occasionally, to spend some time with me. Finally, as mobile does, I want to be heard by everyone in my family. If I were a mobile, I would live with the same craze that the mobile in my house gets."
As he finished reading, he said, "Oh God, what a poor boy ... what a father he has!
Still crying, she looked into his face and said, "This is our son's essay!"
