The Library of Forgotten Dreams

by Abdul Raheem
Emma Parker is a young girl who struggles in her daily busy life. She is writing a novel and has a full-time salesman job. She is struggling to find a balance between her full-time job and her writing journey. She has a round face with long hair and beautiful eyes. Her eyes look so tired from working all night to write her novel. She loves to wear comfy clothes. Mostly she wears a loose sweater or T-shirt with jeans. She also wears glasses which makes her look young and friendly.

She doesn't like her job, but she has no choice but to work at the store for the money. She always has a tote bag with her filled with notebooks, pens, and sometimes a book which she's reading. Every time she gets free time, she brainstorms her novel or reads a book for inspiration. This thing shows her love for writing and reading.

Emma has a gentle smile which makes her look more charming and often looks like she's in deep thought. Emma is full of creativity and passion to become a writer but struggles to find balance in life, just like many other writers. Sometimes she feels like to stop writing but her dreams and passion make her go forward.

One day, she finally decided to stop writing as her job gave her a tough time and she didn't find time to write a novel for months. Whenever she came home, she was feeling so exhausted and just went to sleep after dinner, as she had to wake up early because the duty time on the job increased. She was feeling so stressed because of the overtime at the job which was making her give up on writing. She was always thinking about her unfinished novel, but she did not get enough time to write anything.

A month went by and she didn't even write a single word of the novel. She doesn't want to write again because of her busy life. Then one day in the morning she received a mysterious letter. She doesn't know who sent the letter because there was no sender name or return address on the letter. She opens the letter with curiosity about what is written inside the letter. The letter was an invitation to visit a place called

                                                              "The Library Of Forgotten Dreams"

She didn't pay much attention to the letter at that time as she was getting late for work. The same day, also during the lunch break, she was thinking about the event that happened in the morning. She was in deep thought when the manager told her to eat quickly. Even at night, the thought of the letter came to her mind when she was in bed. She wanted to forget the letter but the thought of the letter came to her mind again and again. At last, she decided to go to the library on the upcoming weekend.

She went to the library on the weekend morning to reduce her curiosity. She left the house early in the morning to search for the library. After an hour of searching, she finally finds the library. The library was in the old and quiet part of the city.

At first glance, the library looked very old but its architecture gave it a magical look. Her eyes widen, and her mouth opens slightly in amazed as she is looking at the library. She stepped towards the door of the library and with a little bit of fear entered the library and then looked around. Her face lightened up with excitement and curiosity. The interior of the library was a very mysterious but amazing sight. She looked around but there was nobody inside the library. Then, she steps towards the shelves.

All the shelves were neat and the books were properly organised. Then, she picks a book and reads it and then many other books. The books were very strange and were not like simple books. The books were filled with unfinished stories, drawings and ideas of the people that they had once started but never completed.

While she is checking and reading the books, she hears the sound of someone stepping from her back. For a moment, she got Frightened but when she turned back she got a little bit relaxed. Behind her back an old man was standing with a smile on his face.

The old man wore glasses, a black gown, and a cone-shaped hat. He also had a stick in his hand. These things were giving the old man a mysterious and magical look. Then, the librarian introduces himself to Emma with a sweet smile. The name of the librarian was Mr Aurther and he was working in the library for a very long time. Then, he told her that this place holds all the ideas and dreams people have given up on. While talking to Emma his expressions were calm which made the library more mysterious.

After this, Emma again started reading some unfinished stories. She found one story very familiar and she felt like she had read it before. After thinking for a moment, she came to know that this was the unfinished story that she started writing when she was in high school but never finished it. When Emma found out the story that she wrote many years ago, she was shocked and the expression showed on her face how much surprised she was at that time.

Then, Mr Arthur tells her a very interesting thing. After listening to that Emma's face turned serious and she listened to him with curiosity. The librarian said that she could complete any story but the twist is that every story she finishes changes something in the real world also.

Emma starts completing the unfinished story after hearing this. She changes the story of the girl who was in a fight with his sister. After changing the story the fight between her and her sister gets resolved which makes her happy and then she starts changing more stories to make good things happen. After all, all the changes were not good and she starts realising that something wrong is happening.

So she stops changing the stories. Then she found an unfinished story of herself in which she wrote about her moving to a new city and becoming a famous writer. She wants to rewrite her story which changes her present but she also knows that this could change her life completely and cause many problems in her life.

Mr Aurthr warns Emma to not change the story as this will change the lives of many other people. He tells Emma that if you use the library magic selfishly then this causes big problems. Now, she had to make a big decision to change her past or to not change it and work hard to change his future. After thinking for a while, she decided to write her own new story and keep moving forward.

After this, a new secret room opens in the library which is full of books and there is nothing written on the books. Mr Aurthr tells her that these books are waiting for her to fill them with new stories. This makes Emma feel inspired again and she leaves the library happy and more determined to write again than she was before.

She has learned that:

"it's never too late for anyone to go after their dreams"

She also learns that it's okay to have an unfinished dream and start new anytime. She again started her writing more confident and excited about her future of becoming a successful writer. The librarian said goodbye to Emma with a smile and she left the library.

As Emma left the library the library disappeared and only appeared for those who truly needed this.

Every dream, even if it's unfinished, matters.
