Mr Fritz Bernhart cursed that day for having undertaken the pilgrimage to Badrinath in India. The sudden cloud burst turned the roads into rivers. Most of the vehicles carrying the pilgrims either got overturned or submerged in water. An eerie atmosphere prevailed all around. People got scattered and fear of death hanged over their heads . Some climbed on the nearby hills and remained there for hours in wet clothes without food or water. The Indian Army has launched an extensive human rescue operation and number of helicopters were deployed to rescue the stranded.
Mr Fritz Bernhart looked at his watch. It was 1.10 pm. He found a small rock near the bushes and sat on it. He thought all efforts till now to find a spiritual leader and the right meaning of life have not been yielded any results in spite of his journey all around the world. His visit to India too has no exception. Mr Fritz has a great academic background and financial support from his well-to-do businessman turned politician father – Mr Bernhart in France, who is an ardent follower of Indian Guru Acharya. Mr Fritz after the death of his mother at an early age coupled with the strained relationship with his wife has been maintaining an aversion towards all material comforts in life. He learnt Hata Yoga from a renowned Yogi of Haridwar who advised ‘darshan’ of Badrinath (Lord Shiva) to enhance practice of Yoga.
Suddenly, he felt an oozing breeze passing through his ears. Subsequently he saw a cute little girl walking towards him and smiled at him. She must be around 13 or so. He looked around to see whether she is accompanied by anybody or not, but found none. Bewildered he raised his eyebrows. She asked “Uncle… are you tired ?” “Alright ! Do not think about salvation. No souls can escape from birth and death as this wonderful world of drama had been created long ago and getting repeated every five thousand years , which will continue for ever without any change. However, prior to the beginning all souls will remain in peace for a short period “. Mr Fritz tried to open his mouth but in vain. He could not utter a word. All his limb seems frozen. He had a strange feeling of flying in the sky, peace and joy filled his heart . Further she said “ You are a soul, not the body . The body is created with five elements - air, fire, water, earth & sky. The soul has seven virtues merged in it – truth, purity, peace, love, happiness, bliss & power . The body consciousness has overpowered these qualities of soul resulting in indulgence of lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego etc. Rediscovering once own identity is the realization of self . You may follow the following simple exercise. Say – I am a soul, not the body. Feel - your soul being seated between the eyebrows on the forehead shines like a tiny star. Forget the body and it’s worldly connections . Try to recollect your own identity and the virtues. Do not allow any negative thoughts to enter your mind. Now you will find yourself drowning in the love of ocean ..love..love towards everybody and everything nothing else but pure love ! You will experience the bliss which is unearthly. Keep practicing and remember the father of your soul – The supreme soul , who is the real father of all souls . You can feel his presence like a star showering ‘fountain of happiness ‘ on your soul, once you are established in your true self. O ‘ Uncle I am sorry . I am late ! My parents are looking for me, I have to go back. Bye”. The girl rushed back and vanished.
Mr Fritz got a jerk and wondered whether he has been dreaming or was that an illusion. He could not control his emotions. By the time two men, members of rescue team, came running and helped him reach rescue camp. He saw that helicopters are being used to carry the deceased and injured from the camp to the nearby city. He stood under the shadow of a temporary hut erected there and watched the rescue procedures. A few minutes later somebody touched his shoulder behind him and asked him to move towards left. He found some NGOs clearing the crowd to transport an injured girl, who was in a coma. He heard a person talking to the crowd that this girl was travelling with her parents in a tourist bus which overturned under the hill in the morning. When he saw the girl’s face he cried loudly ‘O my God ! ‘ It was the same girl who spoke to him in the afternoon. He tried to catch hold of her hands with tears in eyes. Somebody stopped him and said “Don’t worry, she is out of danger !” His question ‘Can a person leave the body while in coma and appear before somebody ?’ remained unanswered ….
