The Daughters’ Wish

by bluesky
A father had three daughters. He worked as a laborer in a nearby factory. Somehow, with his hard earned money he saved enough to marry off two of his daughters and one daughter was yet to be married. One daughter was married to a gardener and the other with a brick maker.

One day he went to see his daughter who was married to the gardener and asked about her well-being. She said: "Everything is fine papa, but I do have a desire. I wish it should rain every day in abundance so that the plants will always have enough water and help my husband.

A few days later, he visited his other daughter, and asked her about her welfare. She smiled and said, “I have no complaints papa, only a small wish: that the days stay dry with bright sun without rain, so that the bricks my husband makes dry fast and become firm soon.

The father started thinking: One daughter wants rain and the other wants dry weather. On which of the two do I fix my prayers?
Moral of the story: Do not ever try to please and look good with everyone. It will be impossible for you.
