Secret Life of Fox Tail - Chapter 6.A Confession and a Shocking Revelation

At the front desk I saw Mr. Brown’s answering calls hysterically while Bobby doing the reservations on the computer. “Good Morning Mr. Browns” I said very nervously looking slightly at Bobby. Looking up from the round glass frames he showed the biggest smile he could over my stay for the past few days. “Good Morning Ms. Maria, how can I thank you for all this I don’t have any words to express my gratitude to you, we are almost fully booked for the whole summer vacation love” said Mr. Browns very excitedly. “Starting today evening you will not be the only guest around here Ms. Kurenai” said Bobby with a smile. I smiled back and walked out the door in to the forest.

Halfway up the mountain I met John standing next to a tree. It was a very hot day; the sun was blazing its rays cutting through the forest, John held my hand all the way up to his secret base. Seeing the waterfall I felt like jumping in to the water and play like a child. “If you want to do it so badly why don’t we both jump in and have fun?” said john suddenly, I looked at him with very suspicious eyes “Natural Instinct” he said with a laugh. This was seriously not funny now. “But I don’t have extra clothes, I didn’t bring any” I said back. “We can stay in my hideout until our clothes dry in the sun or we could just take them off and jump in to the water” he said laughing hysterically. “Very funny” I pouted back, but still whatever I couldn’t resist the water so I went near the water stream sat down on the bank and put my feet in and started to splash the water. I wanted to get in to the water so badly but without another set of clothes I just had to restrict my own heart’s content that’s when I was carried up and was dumped straight in to water by John. When I looked at him he had his trousers folded up to his knees and he was already wearing a tank top so he was sleeveless and wasn’t one bit wet, this was not fair I thought if I am going down he is coming with me went through my mind. Grabbing on to his hands I pulled him as hard as I could and he came falling straight down on top of me crashing our heads together, my mission was accomplished as he was soaking wet from head to toe “serves you right” I said sticking my tongue out at him. “What’s your head made out of, Rock?” he pouted clutching his forehead. Later in the day we were playing in the water like 10 year olds, fooling around splashing each other laughing our hearts out. Taking my hand he took me near the fall, it was a little deeper than before but I could manage slightly on my tip toes as I couldn’t swim unfortunately, I didn’t have the interest in learning and I am suffering now for it, if I could’ve swim I would be playing near John and not staying in one place. He went for an underwater swim and when he came up and swung his hair back my heart stopped beating, water droplets dripping down from his hair and down to his chest it was a sparkling image in my eyes. “Was he this beautiful all this time?” I mumbled to myself, I never took the chance to see how gorgeous he was. He was like an actor in a movie; it was a divine moment I was so mesmerized I forgot I was staring at him and didn’t notice until he came up to me. “Mariya am I that handsome” he asked smiling, coming back to earth I had no words to say I just smiled back embarrassed and slowly made my way out to the area where I could really stand. And sat in the water and buried my head in the water I did not want John to see that moment of mine. “Come on are you going to stay like this? We came here to have fun now come with me” saying this he dragged me into the deep waters again. This time he took me to a place even deeper where I lost my balance and drowned, pulling me back up I could see the shock in his eyes “I thought you could swim, sorry Maria” he said hugging me as I can’t swim I hung on to him and crossed my legs around his waist so I won’t fall off again and he didn’t mind. “Maria I love you, I loved you for so long” he whispered in my ear hugging me tightly. Shocked by his words I tried pulling away from him but I couldn’t, “please don’t run away from me, don’t leave me behind, please let me stay with you again, I promise this time I will never leave you” he whispered again in my ears in a shaky voice. “Who are you John? I only met you few days back, and you have been telling me all this time you known me for so long, how is that possible? I think you might have the wrong person” I told him back. “No, I know it’s you, you still have the same scent as back then, I will not forget you even if I died, you are the only person who cared for me when I was hurt, you cared for me, you are the only one who loved me and I can’t stay away from the love you gave me, I want it back Maria, please love me the way you did long long time ago” he said desperately. “I never loved a person in my whole life John; I don’t even have a boyfriend, you are mistaking me for someone else” I said patting his head reassuring myself he got the wrong person. “You don’t remember me do you Maria? It’s okay, let’s go in to the cave, we are dripping wet and let our clothes dry in the sun. Coming out of the water only I noticed that I was wearing a very thin white blouse and a skirt and everything was showing through, clutching my chest I sat on the grass unable to move. John scooped me up and headed in to the cave behind the waterfall.

Inside he slightly opened the ivy curtain allowing us just to see our way through and not completely, handing over a towel to me “give me your clothes I’ll put them out to dry” said John. I felt so awkward sitting next to john wrapped in a towel and nothing else and also felt sorry for him for mixing me up with the person he truly loved. He took another towel and started drying my hair, there was so much tension inside the cave now, I was so nervous and lost in my own thoughts when he suddenly kissed me out of the blue I was shocked beyond my thoughts but soon it felt so nostalgic my memories ran way back to when I was a child. Was he trying to show me something, but back in the country house I don’t remember having boy as a friend. He slowly started to kiss my whole face as I closed my eyes all I saw was Fox Tail and all the kisses he gave me, they were exactly the same as his. I remembered him licking me every time he got the chance and I showered him with unlimited love because Fox Tail was all I had. He was my whole life that’s why when I lost him I was also lost. “Fox Tail” I said unconsciously. Hearing my words John stopped kissing me and said “You finally remembered me Marie”. “Are you trying to fool me John? Did you take my past and turned it in to joke? I can’t believe you would do something like that to hurt me John, how could you do like this John” I started crying. “You don’t believe me do you Marie? I am Fox Tail, I was once your beloved pet please believe in me, please love me the way you did back then it’s over a decade since I haven’t felt that love you usually shower me with” he started crying with me. As soon as he started crying it started raining outside, the blazing sun disappeared and the sky filled with dark clouds and started pouring. Still hurt deeply by John’s joke I couldn’t believe in him “Fox Tail was a fox, sweet, brown coat, and white tip tail, he died saving me please don’t treat him as joke and you are a human this is not logic at all, are you trying to tell me you turned in to a human after dying?” I cried to him. “Please don’t cry Marie, if you won’t run away I will show you something, proof that I am Fox Tail from your past” he said hugging me tenderly. I nodded my head, wiping my tears away John stood up and went a few feet away from me, in front of my very eyes he turned himself in to the fox I have been seen for the past few days. Shocked and scared at the same time, I was so startled I tripped and fell on the ground, I tried standing up but my legs gave away each time I tried, so scared “how is this possible John? You are a fox? This is going against all logic and theory I learnt in law classes, are you Fox Tail for real?” I questioned him.
