Looking out the window I gazed in to the baseball field where George was playing. The one guy any girl would dream of. Daydreaming in the middle of the math’s lesson was not a good idea but it had struck a bit too later for me as I was hit by a marker pen right in the head by the teacher. “Miki, are you deaf? Can’t you hear me when I am talking to you? Answer this question immediately” barked Professor Nathan. Looking up at the white board I absolutely knew nothing as I was not paying attention at all. Standing up I looked down in embarrassment and replied “Sorry sir I don’t know the answer”. Everyone in the class started laughing as I walked outside of the classroom as the punishment, well it was expected.
Hi I am Miki, 17 years old at St. Clarence High School. I was currently studying in the second year last semester. At the beginning of this year I transferred from Alliance Academy a super rich school to this school for my own reasons. Though I am the only daughter of a wealthy family I wanted a normal life more than anything. So when I transferred I had to come to certain conditions with the principal not to let the cat out of the bag. My parents were dead against my decision but this is what I wanted. My dad is the chairman of the Alliance Academy a well reputed school for the rich throughout the country. As the only daughter I was the next heir, but every day I felt something was missing in this life. Everyone at Alliance Academy knew who I was and wanted to befriend me for their selfish gains. I didn’t have one honest friend who could be trusted and I hated the rich world with all my might. Now that I have transferred to St. Clarence High School lot of things have changed. I truly had friends but they don’t really know who I am. In another way I am betraying them keeping my origins a secret. To get here I had to go through a lot of difficulties with my parents, in the end only under one agreement I was allowed to and that was whenever the times call I have to represent my father and honor him no matter. So in the end, by day I became a normal student and by night I am representing a country for the future children of the super rich.
Standing in the corridor I lost the opportunity to gaze at George. Oh well whatever I stated in my mind. 25minutes later the bell rang ending the math’s period. Professor Nathan walked out glared at me and said “I will see you after school at 3 P.M in the arts room”. He was a good Professor, young and handsome but very strict. He wishes to see all his students pass without failing his class, which is why he is so strict. Actually though he has gorgeous looks none of the girls take an interest in him due to his personality. Lately he has been picking a lot on me as I keep on losing my concentration due to George. And almost every day during his lesson I am punished just like today. As soon as the Professor went Sarah, Erika and Gabriel came running outside. “Hey, you poor baby got thrown out again by that devil” said Sarah hugging me. Tears started to fall down my cheeks “Why are you crying Miki” asked Gabriel. “He asked me to come to the arts room after school, I am dead scared, he will scold me and give me a ton of homework like he did last time” I said choking my words. “We’ll help you finish them like last time” said Erika in a cheerful voice. I was so grateful that I truly have some awesome friends, who look after you when needed. Wiping my tears I headed to the cafeteria along with my gang happily.
While in the cafeteria enjoying the meal George walked in with his baseball club gang. All the girls started drooling over them mostly George, well I had nothing to say to this. Sarah looked at me and slightly giggled, she knew I had a crush on George but it was so clear a guy like him only looked at cute girls I was merely invisible to him. I stopped eating and stared at George and his movements; they came and sat right next to our table. Been so close to him my heart was beating so loudly I couldn’t here another thing inside the cafeteria. Suddenly George looked my way and smiled I froze on the spot unable to return a smile. Quickly I stood up, kept the lunch tray in the wash area and ran out the cafeteria bumping straight in to Professor Nathan. Opening my eyes I noticed I had a very soft landing comparing to what I imagined, looking at what has happened I realized I was on top of Professor Nathan and he was holding on to me. Quickly backing away and standing up my legs started to wobble “I am so Sorry Professor, please forgive my behavior” saying this I started crying silently all over again as he watched my silent tears started falling down. He stood up and without saying a word patted my head and went away. All my friends stood at distance in a complete shock, I looked at them as they came running over to me as my legs were almost giving away.
Relaxing in the classroom during the interval “that was a close call” said Gabriel laughing. “Stop it Gabriel, I thought I was going to die with shock and here you are laughing” I said pouting back. “Well let’s see what happens after school Miki baby” said Erika. “Guys, come on give her a break, don’t tease her like this” said Sarah patting my head so I snuggled in to her. After school my friends agreed to wait for me until I came back but I insisted that they go home and I will be fine. So as I watch them leave I went to the arts room and knocked on the door. “Come in” replied from inside. As I went in I saw a monster sitting on a chair. “So Miki, what’s got in to you, lately you never pay any attention in my class and just gaze outside the window at George, is he interesting than my lesson which would help you to pass your exams” Professor Nathan inquired me. I just looked down at the floor without answering. There was a brief moment of silence slowly I looked up to find Professor Nathan correcting some of our class assignments. To be honest only now I realized how handsome he looked, behind that monster mask lied a kind faced man. My heart skipped a beat slightly. No, no, no, this can’t be happening, I thought in my head. “Take a seat Miki, I will go through today’s lesson to you” said Professor Nathan. Sitting down on the chair next to him I couldn’t concentrate at all. “Miki now what? Why aren’t you concentrating?” questioned Professor Nathan. Breaking the silence my mobile phone rang it was my mother, answering the call I reassured her I am on my way. “Professor Nathan please I need to go now, my mother will kill me if I stay any longer here” I told the Professor tiding my stuff up. As I turned my back to leave he caught my hand and said “I know you can do it, study hard, I will be here for you”. Looking back I saw him smile for the first time my heart melted, nodding my head as thanks I ran out of the room in to the car waiting for me at the gates.
