Marina smiled for a little moment. She pictured herself next to the person she loved the most, and her heart got filled with pure joy. Marina dreamed of long and steamy kisses under a beautiful cherry tree. It was only a fantasy. So, what? It was better than reality. Who could enjoy a life spent in the shadows? No one, not even the man she had put her heart into, seemed to notice her existence. For everybody, she was nothing but a pale shadow. But at least, in her dreams, she was free. In her mind, no pretty girl could make her feel ashamed of herself. On that special place of her heart, she was a princess, and her prince loved her deeply.

Marina cursed herself for being so painfully shy… and at times, she also cursed her crush, for being a handsome, smart and caring young man… of the kind who would never look at a girl like her. Deep inside, Martina wished him to be a little less smarter, way less kinder and so much ruder, so it could be easier to realize he could never be with her.
