Sadly, for some of the other women living in the shelter, that dreaded day came. Claire had got an offer to work as a clerk helper on a little store, a few minutes away of the place where she was staying. After hearing the news, some women of the shelter couldn't help shedding some tears.
“Promise me you'll come to visit us often, ok?, said Lana to the redhead, hugging her tightly.
“I'll do my best. But that work schedule sounds harsh”, replied Claire, trying to sound as sad as possible. It was the first time that somebody treated her with kindness, so she felt a little bit strange for leaving behind those women. But deep inside, Claire knew that it wasn't time yet for her to settle down. Maybe one day, but for now, she had to leave. If she wanted to reach those who hurt her, she had to being from the lowest step on the social stair. Yes, the path was going to be hard to walk, but she wasn't afraid to trying, as there was nothing to lose. A brand new woman was beginning to live, and she was determined to shine just like the most beautiful diamond, and no one was going to stop her.
