Meant to be

She shouts at the rooftop,
He murmurs down the stairs.
She writes the lyrics and plays an instrument,
He sings his heart out.

He paints.
She draws.
They listen to the same kind of music
Just to let the world go by.

She lays down on the sand on the beach,
He climbs the treetop.
She watches the sunset,
He enjoys the sunrise.

He writes stories,
She reads books.
He shares his thoughts,
She intently listens.

She laughs at the corniest joke,
He loves the weird ideas.
She is a loner,
He stays at the corner.

He is broken-hearted,
She is afraid to love.
He is loyal,
She is thoughtful.

They have seen each other smile.
The smile that drowned out the crowd.
As they decide to stop and talk for a while,
It has become the first day of the rest of their lives.
