If Only Part III

Nathan accompanied me to my house, before getting off the car I saw a lot of people in front of our house. A lot of Medias were there too. I get off the car and walked towards the house. Our place is but a small house. It’s made of slabs and the roof was made of an old galvanized tin.

People were staring on us as I get inside the house. My mother,was surprised to see me. I approached her, and told her that I am Ammy’s friend. I couldn't stopped my self, and I hugged her. How I missed my mother and my father too weeping beside my coffin.

My Mind was screaming, I want to tell them that I am here, I’m alive in someone’s body. I want to ease the pain they are feeling. If only I can do that.

I didn't stay long in the place, it’s weird to see your body inside the coffin lying down. I handed them some money. They didn't want to accept it,yet I insisted. I know it will cost a lot for them to have my body buried, and I don’t want to burden them.

We were travelling back home, Nathan driving the car. We were both silent until we reached home. I murmured thank you to him before getting out from the car. I can still see his surprised expression.

I was tired, exhausted, It keeps boggling why I am in this situation, why I am still alive and where is the owner of this body?

The noise is too loud for me. When I opened my eyes, I was in a different room. I remembered, that I fell asleep after we arrived from my parents place. I tried to got up from bed, and I saw that I was wearing a different clothes. I’m wearing a black halter dress,it’s a little revealing it shows my cleavage area. I tried to pull it up,and went outside the room, when I reached their the music got louder and I heard people laughing and talking loudly. Someone then approached me, a guy. He was holding two glasses of wine. He gave one to me.

“Are you feeling better?"He asked

Yeah, what happened? I asked.

“Well, you suddenly fainted and so I brought you here in the room,” he said.

The guy held my hands and kissed it. I was uncomfortable with what he was doing. We’re alone in the corridor, he put his arms around my waste.

“Wait, what are you doing?”, I struggled to get free from him.

"What’s the problem Victoria? Are you still afraid of my wife’s threat? She won’t do it. She’s scared to do it. We've been together for a long time and not even my wife nor your husband did something to stop us."

The realizations struck me, Victoria was having an affair to a married man? And for how long has she been doing this? Now, I know the reason why Nathan hated her so much. I can now understand the disgusting look in his eyes every time he looked at me, No every time he looked at Victoria. My heart cried out for Nathan. He’s such a good man, he doesn't deserve to be cheated.

I decided to end whatever relationship Victoria has to this Man. She may not be happy, but I know it’s the right thing to do.

“I don’t want to continue this relationship. Nathan doesn't deserved to be cheated. He’s a good guy to be cheated.” I said to him.

He looked at me and smirked, “Oh c’mon Vicky, We've been together for 6 years and you know that I know you never loved him. We both know that It was me you really wanted.” He said.

Oh! How evil Victoria was. How can she be in someone’s lap, it means she never loved Nathan.That’s the reason why she doesn't want to have a child with him.

“No, that was before, but now I learned to love Nathan, and I decided to be a good wife to him.”

His jaw dropped,he looked at me still unable to believe what I was saying.

"If that’s what you want, but let’s have a toast before we separate our ways." He raised his glass and handed me the glass of wine he carried a while ago.

I drank the content of the glass, and suddenly I felt dizzy, something hot get in my throat, a moment later my eyes got blurry, I was grasping for air. He poisoned me!!

I woke up,gasping for air,sweat covered my body. It was a dream,but it seems real. It wasn't me in the dream,it was Victoria. She's dead! She was poisoned by the man she had an affair with!
