I will wait for you

by Melanie
The one my heart loved,

The one my heart loves,

The one I fell in love with one evening in mid end year,

I still love you even though you slowly walk away.

I stand at the crossroad,

I stare at the grass beneath my feet,

Oblivious of the midday heat,

The pain within my heart so obvious,

Yet so well hidden from the audience without my heart,

In the distance,

I catch a faint glimpse of your blue shirt,

You left me my love,

You left in the countryside where rivers flow,

You left me by the Jacaranda tree,

At the crossroad my love,

You left me,

There where the road came to a fork,

You left me,

Oh my companion!

Why did you go?

I can still see your blue shirt fade into the long winding road,

I watch you disappear into the bend and my tears flow,

My heart aches,

And I still stand in the very same place you left me.

When you will come back,

You'll find me on my way down the lonely road,

You're stronger than me and you'll catch up with me,

And hold my hand again,

My tears flow and my heart pains,

But I know one day you'll turn back and come down this road again,

As I walk every step down the road,

Know that I'll be waiting for you.
