I Long for a Mother's Love

by manelyn
Samantha and her mother Loren is living a pretty quite life. During weekdays, Samantha goes to school with her mother preparing for her breakfast and things. On Sundays, they both go to church and have lunch afterwards with her mother's home-cooked foods. This has been their routine since the death of her father. But all these has changed after a year...

Loren started dating Daniel, a laborer who also lives in their community and eventually married him after a month. Samantha didn't know how to feel for her mother's decision. She was not consulted when they got married and she really felt left out on the matter. Of course she wanted her mother to be happy, but she also wanted to be the focus of her mother's attention. She's still grieving for her father's death and thought that she and her mother could overcome the grief and sorrow together.

The moment Daniel started living with them, Samantha's relationship with her mother worsened. She won't talk, eat, go to church, or do anything that involves her. Although she wanted to, she just wouldn't.

She's not certain what will happen with her and her mother. She would just remember how her mother used to tell her "Come on Samantha, wake up now, dear angel."

March 19, 2015 - 16:39 I can understand how Samantha may be feeling, but she has to think of Loren, she is also human and needs companionship and intimate love, let her tell Loren how she feels, a mother's love for her child is very different from that for others.

March 19, 2015 - 18:02 You think so wogiam? Isn't Loren being selfish? She has a child to take care after all...and yes, a mother's love is much more important than anybody else's.

March 19, 2015 - 22:33 I agree with manelyn, I had a mom and dad, and I have 3 brothers and a sister and yet when I was growing up, I did not get all the attention and love a child needs. Now that she passed away, I miss her and wish we had a better relationship since I was small. I never had some one to trust or confide in, as my brothers and sisters are more than 9 years older than me. Actually mandolin you gave me an idea for a story. Ob and another thing, where do you live?

March 20, 2015 - 03:37 I'm from Philippines velantra. So you have 4 other siblings, so do I. We, too, experienced the same as your experiences because they separated when we were still young. Although both of them are still alive, we are not in good terms which is so sad. Some people dream of having living parents, while I have them, but doesn't get to talk with them often. Thank you velantra for the nice comment. How about you, from where are you?
