Homesick

by purpletears
Lauren looked at the sky, and her heart felt a little bit achy. She was living in a beautiful city, and her singing career was about to take off. Yet, she was feeling so alone. At certain times of the night, the blinding lights seemed faker than ever. Lauren´s heart longed to see, even just one more time, the beautiful stars of the city where she was born. A bunch of blinking lights couldn’t compare with a beautiful gift from Mother Nature… as a fake smile couldn´t beat the warmth brought by the warm embrace of someone loved.
Lauren´s soul really desired something more substantial than dinner with rich people who never cared about feelings at that kind of things. Sometimes, she did felt trapped inside a glittery cage; so glittery and magnificent, yet, so cold and away from the people who really loved her.
But there would be no reason to going back to the countryside and just forget about her big dreams. She was determined to work hard every single day to make her family proud. Yes, one of those days, she would return to the little city where she was born, just to show everybody that with a little extra dedication, everything is possible
