Her Darkness (Part 8)

by purpletears

The phone suddenly rang. Who could be calling at that time of the night? The young woman thought of don´t answering the phone. But what would be the point of doing such a thing? Maybe was somebody who cared about her well-being.
And she was right. It was Rita, one of her dearest childhood friends.
“Tina, my friend! How are you doing?” asked a very enthusiastic voice, from the other side of the phone.
“Pretty good”, replied the young woman, fighting against those bitter tears piercing her soul.
“Really? You sound a little bit tired!”
“Maybe.. It had been a long week for me”
“Really? Oh, man! That's bad! I wanted to ask you out. I don't know, just to chat and maybe drinking some coffee. What do you say?”
Tina didn´t know what to reply. A few minutes ago, the only thing she wanted to do was to kill herself in a painless way. But know, an old friend was asking her out. Was it some kind of signal? Better not risking out
“Yes.. I mean, this has been a hard week for me”, Tina said “I´m sure I could use a good cup of coffee”
“So, this sunday is ok for you?”
“Of course is it!”
