Lily lit another cigarette nonchalantly. The stars began to shine in the distance, covering the city with a silvery halo. At that hour of the night, the good citizens would be back home, spending some quality time with their families. But Lily was there, out in the cold. Nobody was waiting for her to come home. Nobody to scold her for having spent the afternoon wandering around the city. There were certain times when she just wished for a normal existence. Just like that. A mom, a dad and maybe one or two siblings. Also, it would be good to have a warm meal every now and then. But every time that kind of wishes began clouding up her mind, the ice-like kiss of the wind reminded her to have her feet on the ground. There would be no blue prince to take her to a beautiful castle where all of her worries would fade away. Her life wasn´t a magical fairytale, and certainly, she wasn´t a sweet princess. Lily was just walking the path that fate had chosen for her. Loneliness was her best and only friend. It was a little bit sad to think about it...But at least, Lily was free to live as she wanted..
