Celluloid glued memories

by Sivaranjini Senthilvel
Sweetest of sweet mem'ries
Embedd'd in glossy sheets..
Possesseth the uncanny ability
To escalate our heart beats!

The spontaneously incendiary celluloid
Blazeth mine heart too,
Making the p'ricardium melt,
And pour with a longing to wend back!

'T,the photo album, imbibeth a plethora of memories
'Twixt quartet inch sheets...

Some smiles that the teeth smil'd the last,
These photographs rec'rd'd,

So that we couldst at least see and practice how to smile,
E'en in such times, where the flower of life hadst lost 'ts petals,

Leaving only the slend'r stalk of lifespan behind,

Wilting,withering and dying...
Due to days fill'd with face-frowns and heart-breaks...

Pictures of those days of schooling,
Wearing sh'rt skirts and shoes,
Maketh mine heart heavy
And did wet mine cheeks..

We has't been making m'rry,
Going rides on rockin' h'rses..

Laught'rs of prudence,we has't hadeth,
Whilst eating quart'r-cent candies and half-cent ice creams

And whilst wearing 1- dollar frocks,
Print'd with flowers of a stout pink ink..

Those laughs seem to be stuck to these photographs
They n"r betide to us nowadays,
As we possess n'thing except envy and ego...

Photographs of childhood
Paint mine heart with juvenility
Beseeching me to becometh,once again
The 5-year old sweeting of mine parents...

People who light'd our lives, sacrificing their happiness
Art anon nay more..
They mercilessly hath left us,
Bequeathing only these photographs
Making us kisseth their cheeks
In these half-torn pages of black and white..

Mine eyes flo'd drastically,
Seeing these photographs that taketh mine soul,
Back to those bobbish days of peace and jubilance..

Those old days wer't full of peaches and cream,
And wer't affectionate and caring too...
That they let n''r,mine eyes alloweth a drop betide!!!

These sheets ting'd with quaintness
Art so evocative,that mine eyes
Bleedeth black and white,
Yearning to taketh a rev'rt,
To the beaut olde w'rlde!!

(My heartfelt apologies to Him,Shakespeare! Sorry to thy honour, f'r having spoilt the beauty of thy language)
-A die hard fan of thy quaint language
Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?
