That day the two boys were very unruly, driving every person around them mad with their mischief and screams. They went to a nearby forest and played hide-and-seek behind the trees, to see who screamed the most. They moved to and fro from the branches of the trees, to tumble in the air.
They played happily until lunch time and then, exhausted from playing, they fell asleep at the foot of a tree. Suddenly a fire broke out in the forest. The birds fluttered, the lions roared, the hyenas screamed, the elephants wailed, the snakes hissed, the frogs crooned, the bees buzzed, and the little monkeys were frightened and jumped with fear.
At the end of the day, the fire grew bigger and spread quickly with the wind that was blowing that day with force. The animals crossed their eyes looking for help without knowing how to get away from the raging fire and ran screaming in fear looking for a way out through the flames.
The monkeys began to cough, their eyes were red and they did not know what had happened. There was nothing left of the calm landscape the boys had left behind when they fell asleep. They looked at each other in fear without knowing what to do next. Even their house was not near.
