Blinded By Lies

by purpletears
As little children
believe in fairytales,
a young soul believed
in empty words
said by a cheap liar.
A tender heart,
dreaming to be loved,
suddenly got blinded,
and was unable to see
the lack of truth
in those nice-sounding words.
Suddenly, what looked so bright,
got painted with a dark tone.
The young believer
felt from cloud nine,
and crashed hard
against the cold concrete.
Then, she learned
the most valuable lesson;
yes, love is one
of the greatest feelings,
but only if it is honest,
clear as the blue skies,
pure as a first kiss
from someone special.
But all of those liars,
hiding under masks
of worthless perfection,
devalue every single day
something that should be
kept in an altar,
so far away from the people
who cannot appreciate
the greatness of true love.
