Chapter one:The Meeting.

January 19th 2007.

Pete Wilson successful
businessman and loyal husband, entered the lift of the prestigious
manufacturing company Etikraft,he was fully prepared to meet with the Board of
Chairmen of the company.Infact it was true to say that he was confident and
relaxed.

He knew how to play those old men,who had
become so nested in their seats ,they had lost all touch with reality, current
affairs and new technology. It was a simple case of baffling them with fancy
facts and figures, and  pandering  to their egos’s in order to manipulate them.

In his late forties,Wilson
with his tall ,slim Mediterranean build, and dark features was the Senior Sales
Executive of Etikraft. He had worked his way up from the bottom[working in the
mailroom] after graduating from Business Academy  with a first degree in Business and
Economics.

One of the processing chips in
the missiles that the company produced, had become diseffective,it was down to
Pete to explain why.The Meeting was to be held on the eleventh floor, with all
of the Senior Executives ,Co-owners and Chairmen of the company.

Wilson pressed the eleventh
floor button, his sharp brown eyes noted that the correct button alighted and
the steel case rose upwards, and he jolted slightly, as the metal box and all
it’s components whined with effort. That was strange ?he thought to himself, it
usually moved with ease, but netherless he continued to look in the mirror,it
was an over statement to say self-admiration was aboot. In his ten years of
being a senior sales executive, he had achieved a great success, but in earnest
it wasn’t an honest route. In order to achieve his goals,Wilson had use his
influence to back stab, and double-cross alot of his fellow-rival
colleagues, people that deserved better in reflection, worked harder possibly?,
definitely.But  somehow he had always
covered his tracks. With all that being said and done,Wilson had no remorse for
his actions, those that can’t win shoulden’t bother play the game, was his work
ethic, and how he lived his life.

The elevator speeded up
immensely and then juddered abruptly,Wilson was shaken and a tad startled. There
were a few  a moments of being in
complete and utter stasis.Wilson panicked,pressing a variety of buttons,it
restarted at tremendous speed, once more groaning and gnarling as it did so.

‘‘What the hell?’’Wilson
exclaimed as the temperature rose inside the structure, and all floor levels of
the elevator were lit simoultaneoulsy.Wilson predicted something was wrong, that
he woulden’t make his meeting on time, and swore again, pressing the emergency
stop button to at least prevent a major accident, and make it out alive.

The doors opened,and smoke
emerged.Wilson was alarmed at first, cautious to say the least, this was most
unexpected.Every notion in his body, urged him not to exit the lift, but what was
the alternative?stay inside it and plunge to his death?.The smoke cleared and
curiousity ensued and got the better of him.

What laid before him simply amazed the man,a huge
river stretched out for what seemed like endless miles, but with a series of
numbers running along each wave of  water. Some
of the numbers like fish seemed to jump out of the river sporadically, and dive
back in again.Several  of the numbers
were grouped together, and the logically presumption were that they were dates,
and years.

The idea however to step out
of the lift was very irrational, but the lift ricketted every so much, and
somehow began to catch fire with sparks flying out of disconnected wires.Pete
had to move!.He looked for something to step onto a raft,or a small random
piece of wood, nothing,he put one foot in to test how deep the water was,but
there was just surface water .Could he possibly walk  across it?Impossible!,With a gush of wind he
was pushed north several hundred metres, with darkness all around him it was
all but too surreal!

The water disappeared and for
moments he was left in the darknesss.

A bright light came forward,
and held his gaze.

Chapter 2:New Jersey.

He was positioned to what
seemed like !mid afternoon in a street in New Jersey, one familiar to him in his
youth. But how did he get there he pondered?.What was the connection between the
elevator and the street?.

Swarmed by a series of tall
buildings and fortified pedestrians. It was hot and sticky day and the air was
as thick of mud.He recognised the attire of people, the big hats, the thick
moustaches on men,and the suits that looked extremely cheap.Billboards were of
brands long forgotten.

High pitch screams and came
from the direction of the main street as came off the side street and continued
to walk.Hysteria became a grade higher, when from out of nowhere  the body of a fifty year old office
worker, plummeted to the ground from one of the
buildings above.Wilson stepped back even though the body was several  hundred feet away from him,it jarred him ever
so much.

The crowd accumulated together
like ants on a hill, the body of the man lost all signs of life.No one from the
gathering had  recognised the rotund man
with long thick orange hair.In perculiality he had a piece of paper stappled to
the back of his long trenchcoat stating.

‘‘I ve had enough’’Naturally
promoting the notion of sucide.Wilson would  admit that he himself would not fall prey to
such a fate,he was made of much sterner stuff, yes work was stressful but you
just got on with it,adapt or simply move on.On the other hand the sight that
laid before him wasn’t completely insufferable.

But was all this ?Was it a
dream?.If so it was time to get back to reality! But when would he would he,how
could he wake up?

The second cause of logic
would be that he had travelled through time.If this was so why? And How could
he get back to the present day ? He contemplated as started to walk north,he
could see a park five hundred metres ahead away from the busy street. He was
convinced that there were more than enough capable people around that would be
able to deal with the sucidical incident,he had problems of his own, besides if
it was just a dream his actions would be counter –productive.

The park was of usual fair
with lushious trees and cafe in a non discreet marketing spot, and a small pond
in the centre. There were a few benches encasing the perimeter of the pond.On one
of them was a youth,with a  stocky
build,blond hair,and a striking nose,a charming face,a thick jersey and baggy
jeans.Possibly in his late teens,he seemed to recognise the young man somehow
but coulden’t place where,was he a distant relative of his?No possibly not.He
ventured towards the park bench. The young  man looked up from his  mournful glare, and had a gander seat at Wilson
in his nice clothes, assumed he had money and asked him for a cigarette.Wilson
replied no, as he was not a smoker .In response the teen state that it was ‘‘typical’’,and
that nothing ever went right for him, and sunk even deep   into his seat.

The tone was so alarming coming
from someone so young, with their whole life ahead of them, but the boy was
shaking slightly and it was obvious there was some deep issues related  to the youth’s plight.

Another stranger walked past a
spindly,shaped woman with green hair,pony tailed,a long nose,with a fully
decorated black dress.She  smoked with
vigarilty, encouraging her long elongated fingers grasp themselves tightly
around the base of the cigarette. Her nose twitched oddly as she exhaled the
fumes.Something stirred inside Wilson,he noticed the teenager looking at the
woman, but for some reason the youth dared not to ask her for a cigarette
perhaps he was intimated by a tattoo wearing scarlet,or given up hope for fear
of rejection.Or maybe,Wilson was the third person in a row to reject him.Whatever
the case was,Wilson felt sorry for the guy and decided to help.

‘‘Excuse me,do you mind if I
trouble you for a cigarette?’’

‘‘Not at all’’The lady smiled
and passed one onto Wilson, and then after a few puffs, walked away.

Wilson gave the cigarette to
the youth, who half- smiled awkwardly. The familiarity of the boy beguiled him.He
remembered at University, his room mate Jeremy Jemkins had pictures of his
younger  brother Matt,in his room. The lad
looked identical to the teenager in the photo’s,but it could be a mistake,it
was thirty years ago,and the teenager would now be in his forties also.It was
too much to take in, again the same questions, was this  a dream, did he travel back in time? The only
ration step to take was to carry on with the situation, assuming it was  a dream ?and find a way in order to wake
possibly come to some conclusion, his rational mind prompted,or simply in
reality he hoped his alarm would set off.

If this indeed was the memory
of his room mates Brother, then it was a sick mind trick he was playing on
himself.Jeremy had constantly mentioned his Younger Brother and how much he
worried about him, that his brother Matt was always, insecure and extremely
depressed.Infact it came back to him ,that on one particular night,Jeremy
mentioned something about a sucide attempt,a failed one, and a successful
one.In reality Matt Jenkins was dead from a drug overdose, which caused Wilson’s
room mate  to give up college and move
back home.

‘‘What’s your name
kid’’Curioisty engrossed him.

‘‘What do you want to know
that for?’’

‘‘Just humour me kid’’

‘‘Jeremy ’’

‘‘Jeremy what?’’

‘‘ Jeremy Jemkins!,...... che
wizzwhats’s with questions old man?’’

‘‘Just intrigued kid,just
intrigued’’

‘‘Ok kid just humour me for a
second ,what’s the year?’’

‘’What are you crazy?, what
kinda question is that?

‘‘Just humour me god damn it’’

‘‘1977’’

Alarm bells had not only rung
but had been worn out and become disolete. The goal was clear help the kid in
some way and hopefully awake from this dream.

‘‘Anyway kid,why so
down?Surely things aren’t that bad?’’Wilson sat bedside the boy as Jeremy
continued to smoke.

‘‘No you are right things
aren’t that bad,they are worse!’’Jeremy replied.

‘‘Really kid?,surely it can’t
be?’’He knew he would hear some moronic excuse.

‘‘Well I just lost my job
cause my boss is an asshole, and things at home ain’t too great,my stepfather is
a knob cheese, and my mum is threatening to throw me out, coz me and mr knob
cheese are constantly arguing, coz I guess it’s either me or him right?’’The
youth replied shrugging his shoulders.

‘‘Well what you need to do is
to get a job and move out, life doesen’t owe you nothing, you have work hard for
what you want,go out there and get it’’He didn’t care that he sounded too harsh,
he had to drum some sense in the kid.

‘‘Listen old man I don’t need
a lecture ok,I’m going through my shit’’Jenkins replied feeling slightly hurt.

‘‘Ok maybe I don’t
understand,but maybe I can help?’’

‘‘How?’’

‘‘I can get you a job!’’

‘‘How and why would you do
that?”Matt queried. It was a reasonable question Wilson was a complete stranger
and when were people ever nice to complete strangers?.Wilson paused,he
coulden’t tell the boy the truth, that has the memory of a dead person,or the
supposed truth, that he was only helping him to wake up from a dream.

‘‘Because I can,look it’s what
I do I’m a businessman that gets people get what they want.Look do you want a
job?Do you want to get out of your mum’s place?Well let me help you, meet me
back here in an hour with a clean shirt and trousers and we will hit the
streets looking for work, and we will get you a new job’’

Oddly enough the boy shrugged
his shoulders, nodded and walked off .It was likely that he would not come back, but
possibly because the young chap had little else to do, he was  deperate, believed in Wilson or ,maybe all
three,that he returned.

Chapter 3:Job hunting,January
Monday 12th January 1977.

Matt looked remarkably
different,with a clean white shirt,a tie,a pair of black trousers,with lots and
lots of aftershave, and deodorant, a common flow with teenagers.Naturally Wilson
was startled by his aura.

‘‘Well you look clean’’Pete
coughed as he pronounced the words.

‘‘Are you sure about
this?’’Matt once again pepped, looking overly uncomfortable in his attire.

‘‘Yes come on let’s
go.’’Wilson demanded.

They surveyed a variety of
outlets amongst a myriad of streets only to be frowned upon by the young
upstart, it would amaze someone to believe that he was in great need for
work, and not the heir to the throne, due to bestow himself upon an etire
kingdom, and that money was no matter to him at all.Eventually they reached a
very classy Jewellers, with multi-engraved diamonds and Jewells ,ranging from
2000-to 20-000 dollars.Decorated elegantly but extremely glitzy and shiny
crystals.

A short slim man in his early
fifties ,with a tight thin moutache and well oiled hair, stood by a display
case,adjusting an arrangement of earrings.

‘‘Can I help you
gentleman?’’He murmed in a slightly discerning voice barely glancing at them.

‘‘Yes this fine fellow is Matt
Jemkins,a well balanced individual, who is looking for work, and I am his mentor
Pete Wilson who is here to assist.’’

‘‘Nice to meet you I am Mr
Ronald Morris’’.

The man observed Ron,who had
the elegant poise of an angel.

‘‘Yes well we do not just hire
anybody, what are your credentials young man?’’

‘‘Of course not sir,this is a hard-working
,dilligent ,and conscientious fellow’’Wilson simply used his business tactics
to run this operation,to him it was a business deal like any other.

‘‘With the greatest amount of
respect,Mr Wilson,I would like as a prospective employer, to hear from the
young man’’

Wilson felt less self-assured,what
would the boy say? This was due to be an indefinite botch job.

‘‘Well I’ve worked in a small
book shop in the east side of town for nine months ,Helby’s ,it recently closed
down, you might have heard of it?’’

‘‘Yes I have it was a nice
small shop, what were your duties there?’’

‘‘I worked on the shop
floor, stock replenishment, stock taking and and basic shop care and cleaning
,aswell as customer service of course’’

There was an an air of
confidence from the boy and clarity, which seemed odd,as it was extremely out of
charector, but Wilson was relieved as  it
seemed to impress the man.

‘‘Well we do have a position
available,we have just had to let someone go,who was extremely unreliable, tell
me Mr Jemkins, are you punctual and committed?’’

‘‘Yes sir ,very much so’’!

‘‘Are you fully flexible able
to start in two days time?’’

‘‘Yes sir?’’

‘‘Well seeing as we need a
Junior Sales Clerk,I will give you a one day trial, and then if that goes well a
two weeks probation period. So if you can come in on wednedsay 8.30 am then we
will begin.’’

The man leant over to shake
Morris and Wilson’s hands, both of them extended the ritual.

Thank  you for your time Mr Jemkins.’’Wilson prompted
not wanting to feel left out.

‘‘Good day ’’Jemkins added.

They exited the shop,and headed
to the main street.Matt for the first time had a smile on his face.

‘‘Well that’s sorted out now
you got yourself a new job kid,but tell me something ,what’s with the attitude
,you were like a different guy in there?’’

‘‘Soda fizz,it always gives me
a buzz don’t know why?’’Jemkins smiled, and was genuinely pleased with
himself  as if for the first time.

‘‘Well if it works?’’Wilson
added.

‘‘But thanks for your help Mr
Wilson,I still don’t know why exactly you did help me,but I am grateful anyway.....Look
I gotta go,I’ll see you Wednesday maybe to tell you how my first day went?’’

‘‘Sure thing Matt I’ll look
you up in the book’’

Wilson watched Jeremy walk
away feeling secure that he had enabled matt to move on with his life. The young
man disappeared through the crowds, and some how the river  that had presented itself outside the lift, reappeared
far in the horizon, one of which nobody else seemed to notice in the centre of
the street

Was this his way home?Had anyone else noticed the river,? was this now
finally the end of the dream?,and  the
way back to return back to the present day?.Without hesistation he approached
the river to find out.

 Rogue Mesopshagen.

A change in air temperature,first........ ,

Then the vision of majestic lights ,sent shivers to
my spine.I ran to the nearest hill,as to get a closer look at the range of
mystical colours, presented by the  meteorite
progessing with sheer grace.

Wonderful,orange,purple and vanilla.I stopped
breathing due to being very overwhelmed.

My heart beated frantically,as if it were to
burst, then gold dust fell upon me,and the aesthetic delight faded into the
distance.
