A Trickster (Part 5)

by purpletears
How many poor souls did she broke? Seeing that poor young man so helpless, made her rethink her life choices. She choose the “easy” path, that only left her feeling emptier than she ever was. Yes, life is such a difficult thing, but thinking about it, there's no need for others to pay for someone else´s mistakes. Maria sighed after realizing, for a moment, what her life had went to. Maybe.. If she had born in a different place, she could have been something else; a better woman in the whole and wide sense of the word.
Tears almost began falling from her face, but then, she realized there was more to live. There was life running through her face, and she was determined to don´t let it go to waste.
Maria knew what she was about to do, would be a big blow to her ego. But it did not matter anymore. She had to do it. After spending a bit of time looking for it, Maria was able to find that phone number. Sighing again, she dialed it.
“Hello! Who is this?”, said a male voice from the other side of the line
“It´s me Maria, your sister. Do you have a little time to talk with me?”
“Oh, Maria! What a surprise! Of course we can talk…”
