Sad Reality

Shannon Adamson, were born with a silver platter. The only heir of the richest man in their City. Ever since she's a child her parents showered her with luxury and love. She always get what she wants. And that might be the reason why she become a spoiled brat.

She may have everything she can asked for but it doesn't stop her for asking for more. Until she grow up, and become more demanding for the things that she wants and likes.

Designer clothes, expensive perfumes, different styles of shoes and footwear. Even new model of cars. She always ask her parents with what she saw the others have. Jealousy and envy fueled her possessive nature, and she demands for more.

Until her target change to humans affection. Whenever she saw someone that she liked she will pay them to be hers. And like a toy, she get every handsome boys that she can have, then after she get tired of them she will toss them away and find another that will take her interest.

And her parents like always just do what they did best, and that to give in on her every whim...

Then she met Darrel, a young handsome man and a waiter at her favorite Italian restaurant. She become smitten on his beautiful handsome face. His blue eyes beckon her and before she knew it, she's already falling. But Darrel is different. She already done everything she can to make him fall for her, but to no avail.

Shannon doesn't understand why he didn't like her. She already have everything. So what is the problem? Tired of waiting anymore, she ambushed him when he's on his way home after work.

"Why you can't love me?" She asked, directly. After she get out of her car, and directly run on him.

Darrel sigh, and brush his messy hair with his fingers. Anxiety filling his insides, while he looked at the girl standing in front of him with a serious face.

A week of torment from her make him wary of her presence. Although, its not a first. A lot of girls, like him because of his looks and that's why he hated them. And this girl, Shannon is just the same as them.

She's well known. With rich parents, that can give her everything she wished to have. And he knows that he's one of the newest conquest that the girl wanted to have.

"Because, I don't." Shannon cringe internally, when she heard the nonchalant answer of Darrel. And even though she don't want to admit it, his words still hurts.

"Why? I'm pretty, and I have everything you can asked for a girlfriend. So why, you can't? Am I still lacking something?" She asked, her voice starts shaking. "If there is, just say it and I will change it!"

Darrel step back, startled that the girl just burst out something like that. And looking at her now, she is more different than the first time she saw her. The confident facade that she has is on the verge of breaking. Her small shoulders is trembling, while her eyes is looking at him solemnly. As if pleading him to just take her, and it almost break his heart.

He doesn't know why, but it seems that he can feel that the girl is actually in love with him. And he's not exactly expecting her to feel this way about him. But he still can't change what his heart truly wants. And it might broke her heart, but he want to tell her the truth.

He smile softly, and Shannon almost jump from joy. For the first time, he bestow her a heart warming smile other than the annoyed huff that he always do every time she would stop by the said restaurant ever since she first saw him.

And that's a good sign right?

"There's nothing wrong with you, Shannon. You're pretty, sexy, smart and rich. Anyone would die just to have you, but I'm sorry I can't be with you."

Shannon smile starts to waver, and she can feel her heart slowly breaking into tiny little pieces. Her eyes start to water, and she can feel her hands shaking.

"Why?" Darrel almost didn't hear her. And it pained him to see her looking like that. Her beautiful eyes glistening, and it won't long now before she broke down and cry. He knows that he doesn't have to this. He can just say a hundred of lies. But he also knows that it won't be fair for Shannon. She might be a spoiled brat at some point, but she still deserved to know. After all by the looked of it, her feelings is definitely real. And he's not that ruthless to lie on her face.

"Because, I'm gay."
