Primarily the self gets to understand what could be the difference between ethics, morals and values. There cannot be an absolute definition in totality because the human life is interlinked with multi-various aspects life like many a cultures, beliefs, traditions, religions and theology. In a secular state of affairs how one consistently acts in a refined way is considered as ethical. It could be happening out of ethical code formatted by the moral authority.
When action does not tally with values, it affects fellow human beings constantly, and it is termed as unethical. Another aspect which confuses definition of ethics is when it becomes a question of what is right and what is wrong. When a person or a child is about to die out of hunger, helping to save their life with stolen money becomes a confusing aspects for deciding whether it unethical.
