¶ It all started over a 3hrs movie titled "The Meeting". Toby's analysis of the movie made the movie even more interesting, what she saw in the movie I didn't, I mean, I THOUGHT it was a good movie and all but she KNEW it was a great movie which fascinated her and she wanted more.
From analysing the movie we digressed to a whole other things. We talked about Hollywood, Bollywood, Bollywood, Gholly wood, Jamaicanwood (if there's anything like that). We talked about our counties economy, politics, fashion, music virtually something about everything.
What fascinates me most about this SUNFLOWER are the beautiful ideas of arts she has in her head which she showed me. It's such a shame she's not an artist.
"My name is TOBY" -when I first entered the room I was feeling dizzy and I know I barely could recognize anyone's face but she said "My name is Toby" and I immediately tried to match the WINDY voice to a face but I couldn't. I went back into the room to look for this windy voice that definitely blew me away. I went back into the room to look for this windy voice that definitely blew me away.
In the room I tried to link the faces before me with the voice in my head and alas!
"Your Toby right"
"Yes" she said
"Ah, that voice"
She smiled but I surprisingly can't remember the smile, oh how we ignore trivial but yet important things about others.
My focus was on the voice. She sounded like that of the wind on a sunny afternoon - comforting and given the heat in the room, I needed air.
Talking to Toby was like entering someone's soul, the serenity inside of it beat my imagination and I began to wonder - "Why did I meet Toby" and I realised (after our discussion) that I needed inspiration to go on and not see myself as defeated, I needed some form of distraction from the issues that burdened my heart such as my forthcoming exams and other issues. And for me what else could be so comforting as the beautiful sight of nature:- the sunflower (Toby) and the wind ( her voice).
Her use of the English language was accurate, her Love for her country evident and her manners hmmm.
We parted ways to our different bedsides and very early the next morning I set out for my home. Shit! I forget to ask her for contact. Now my pride is coming and gradually taking centre play. I could easily call someone who would gladly give her contacts to me but well I thought - if she ever wanted to reach me she would be the one scouting for my contacts at least show interest in continuing our friendship if we have one. 7 months and still counting.
Hmm! How we deprive ourselves the joy of asking for what we want I means what's the worst that can happen. (Sighs)
My name is Toby and it's a privilege to meet you were her parting words.
(Hmm, that voice again.)
