JOURNEY to the GOLDEN ISLAND
H S HRIDOY
ONCE upon a time there lived a young man named Harry Williamson in California. He was given this name because he was born in Williamson Mountain in E-California. When he was only a child, his family was very poor. But Harry was born with a good fortune. As he was growing up, his family was becoming affluent. In a short time they became so rich that they could bye an Island .For this reason Harry’s parents gave him the nick name -Lucky Williamson. But when he became a tender aged boy, he was called the treasure boy as he was fond of riches. He wanted to make his motherland the golden land. But he was also fond of traveling. One day he decided to make a thrilling journey from the North Atlantic Ocean to the South Atlantic Ocean. Harry wanted to travel alone. SO he got into the ship with his captain, with also drinking water and foods. Harry decided to travel beside “Bermuda Triangle”. The captain tried to change Harry’s decision but failed. At last Harry made the captain obey his order. Then they started their journey. After three days, Harry and the captain of the ship reached the haunted as well as dangerous area. Night fell. Harry was asleep. The ship was going beside the area. Suddenly the nature became very dark and lightning flashed. A powerful tornado woke up in the sea. Harry woke up. Harry and the captain were very frightened. They were stunned and could not take their breath. They became senseless.
Thunder was roaring…………..
Their ship sank. Everything was destroyed within a moment. ……
THE NEXT DAY………
It had dawned. Sky was cleared. Clouds were floating around the sky. Harry was sleeping on sands. Suddenly he woke up and felt very strange. The nature was very fine. Harry was thinking that it was a dream. But he was very surprised when he understood that everything was real. He thanked Allah for saving his life from danger which happened the previous day. He stood and saw a beautiful Island. Harry thought that the wave of the sea took him to this beautiful Island. That Island was unknown to him. Harry called the captain by name but did not get any answer. Then he went to the edge of the Island for looking out for any kind of help. But where he looked, he found only water in the sea. That disappointed him very much. Being disappointed, he entered into the deep of the Island.
Harry was walking through the muddy and slippery road and there were trees and creepers and herbs everywhere. While walking, Harry stopped and felt something strange. HE LOOKED down and saw that creepers and herbs had obstructed his feet. Harry had a knife. So, he cut the creepers with the knife and ran fast. Thus he reached at the deep of the Island…………………..
IT WAS EVENING………
Harry had been suffering much for his foolishness that he showed before his tragedy. He was very tired and had been suffering from dehydration as he did not drink water from morning. But he was very intelligent. He took some mud and put off his shoes and socks. Then he made the socks full of mud. When he pressed the socks, the water came out and he drank it. He had taught how to survive in unknown place or jungle from his teacher. When Harry took the mud from the socks, he saw gold in the mud. Harry was amazed at when he found gold. Then he decided to pick up more gold. He started digging. When a deep hole was made, he found nothing but gold. His joy was increasing. He started saying this, “I am going to be the richest man in this world. I will take a lot of gold with me when I return. But how will I be able to escape from this beautiful danger?” Harry revolved in the Island but found only gold. He was very hungry. There was nobody in the Island, even animal, even any sound. He told himself, “How will I go? There is no one to save me from this mysterious Island. There is gold and gold. But they can’t help me. ” So the dream of becoming the richest of world went in vain. Then being disappointed, he started walking and walking. Suddenly he found the way of water. Harry became very happy as he saw the sea. He started running fast gathering hopes and energy again. After some time, he reached there. But there raised another problem. Harry did not know how to swim. So he became tensed again. However, he hit upon a plan. He started gathering woods from trees and made a boat. Then Harry brought this boat in the sea. He got into the boat and started to move forward. He took some gold with him. Before going, he wrote his name in the Island. Harry did not know where he was going. He was only moving and moving forward. After some hours, he looked behind and saw that he left this Island far behind. Soon night fell and it was dark all around. Harry looked very frightened. Suddenly a storm rose. Harry again had become senseless. After a few minutes, the wooden boat sank.
AFTER THREE DAYS……………..
It was morning. Harry was lying in the bed. Suddenly he woke up and saw an old sitting beside him. Harry asked the old man, “Who are you? Why am I here?” The old man replied, “I have found you in the sea beach. You were unconscious then.” Harry thanked the old man and told him about his journey. The old man did not believe in Harry’s word. Then Harry showed him that gold which he brought with him. However Harry gave that gold to the old man and returned to his motherland California. He knocked at the door of his house. His mother opened the door and astonished to see his only son Harry Williamson after seven years. It means the time between his first day of journey and the day of returning to his home was seven years. His parents were very happy and also angry to see their son after so many days. They asked him where he had been for those days. Harry told his parents everything of his journey and the mysterious golden Island. His parents thought that Harry was telling them his own false making stories. Harry tried heart and soul but failed to convince as well as console him. Then being disappointed, he went to bed and slept quickly. Harry woke up with the rising of the sun. But he was astonished when he saw himself in the ship and the captain beside him. Harry was thinking how that was possible. The captain of the ship told Harry that they did not get the permission to travel beside Bermuda triangle. So he could not able to start their journey. Captain also said, “I was about to inform you but you were asleep then. So forgive me.” Those words were giving pain to Harry’s ears. However finally
Harry realized everything and understood that the mysterious journey and the golden Island was a part of his adventurous dream and it was dreamt by him. Then Harry Williamson burst into tears for losing his golden Island and also burst out laugh for his interesting dream…
