I Would Rather Be Like Sea Kelp

by nesbitandgibley
I would rather be like sea kelp.
Not for lust or feel, guilt or need
I’ll pass on hands or thought for help
But instead, adopt the tumbleweed.

An absent pilot, an empty chair
In a world of gales and brine.
Without Doctor, Sergeant or Master
I want a name that is wholly mine.

The lights are on, well lit and bright
But my persona lives to be free.
No maps, no signs, no career decisions
Just the wind and waves guiding me.
Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?

March 28, 2016 - 15:33 This is very special. As a young man I stayed on Robben Island for a couple of years and had the privilege of diving almost every day that the see allowed me to amongst the kelp. Never has anyone opened up the resemblance of freedom to me in such a way. Respectfully, the kelp was a safe haven against the majority species of sharks in that area.

We often forget that the reason we are here today is because of the survival and reproduction of our ancestors. Our time now is very different.
