Her Hero II

Anne had a strange, uncomfortable feeling that the lines of his song are meant for her. But she had to laugh at her foolishness; she was delusional. She meant nothing to Luke. She should stop overreacting like this and focus on the present -- her present, not in some make-believe world again. Yes, maybe that's it. She's creating her fantacy world again...just because Henry ditched her again in favor of his friends. He had always seem to do that more often, and it's breaking her.
Thinking of this, Anne grows cold and hostile. The magical moment she had felt a while ago faded into the air. She stand up suddenly as Luke's song come to its end. She quickly makes her exit towards the door--feeling wretched and vulnerable. Amy stared after her; confused and don't know what to do.

She had been standing there for almost half an hour. Looking at the moon with a forlorn expression on her lonely face, she look like a broken-hearted lover.
She needed time to think. To leave the world behind if only for a while.
"Is it ok if I join you?"
Luke's quiet voice seems to echo in the stillness of the night. Anne's heart skip. She heard the apprehension in his voice, yet the affection and warmth overcomes it. Suddenly she became nervous and shy like a school girl facing her crush. And she can't help the feeling of contentment and happiness she feels right now despite her mind's screaming protest.
"I don't mind at all," she said blushing, smiling shyly at him.
Luke smile at her with amused eyes. "I hope I'm not interfering."
This time, Anne had to smile. "What makes you think of that? Do I look so serious or something?"
"No," Luke sigh and cleared his throat, "but you look so deep in thought...yet so serene. I was afraid I might scare you away." He look at her with a sad smile.
"Oh," she had to smile sadly at that too.
Luke was silent for a moment, before he surprises her with his next words, "What are you thinking, Anne?"
Anne look at him, then back to the moon again. "Nothing...just uh...maybe, and what if's..."
Luke gave a low laugh. "Quite for a deep thought, huh? Yet too far from nothing."
His words strucked her. Like a bomb, the truth about what he said exploded into her
sanity. She was, in fact, thinking about her ironic fate...living with her new family, difficulty in coping, Henry's lack of time and attention to her...and Luke...Luke again....she sighed-- everything becomes colorful and exciting when she thinks of him...and the thought of what if's and might have been.
Luke was looking intently at her. He was torn between keeping his rules to himself, and--loving her secretly. He had seen her suffer, seen her broken. And god helped him; he was summoning all his self-control to hold her in his arms, tell her everything's gonna be alright...and punch the man responsible for breaking her apart. Henry-- when he thought of him, he wanted so badly to give the shaking he deserves.
But he can't do that...he doesn't have the right. He was just --her friend....and Henry was her f*****g boyfriend.
Their silent peaceful moment was broken when Anne's phone rang.
Anne look at it for a moment, feeling disoriented. She had almost forgotten she carries it with her.
The name of Henry blinks at her from the screen, she hesitated. "I shall take this call," she said in apologetic voice; though she don't know why should she apologized for it.
"Go on. I think I'll check on the band too inside." He said walking towards the bar.
Anne couldn't help feeling sorry that their moment together already come to an end. But who is she to complain anyway?
But before Luke enter inside, he turns to her again and said , "I'll be back later."
Anne could only nod. She was torn.
When Luke came back, Anne was already gone. Luke stood there, with a deep, thoughtful look on his face.

The next day, Anne was surprised to see Luke sitting patiently on their group's favorite hangout--the Avenue Park.
He was busy strumming and tuning his guitar so he didn't noticed her when she came near him.
She stops and stands right in front of him; searching for something to say. "I'm sorry about last night."
Luke looked up from strumming his guitar. He smiled and return his attention again to what he's doing. "About what? Talking to me or leaving unexpectedly."
"Both," she said uncomfortably, looking to the ground.
"It's alright Anne. Although I hope taking off like that wouldn't become your habit in the future."
They both laughrd. The tension was slowly lessened.
"You are early." Anne said in a matter-of-fact voice, yet her heart is racing. Hoping had slowly become a second nature to her and she had to chastised herself for it.
Luke finally stopped what he's doing and seem to focused his attention to her , to her great discomfort. "Does it bother you?" he asked, worry and uncertainty etched in his handsome face. " I just wanna see if you're ok."
"Thanks." It was all she could said. Truth is--she's fighting the urge to succumb to her heart's wishes; to spill it all to him, her worries, dreams...her what if's. But the problem is--she doesn't know how.
She's tired doing the 'right and natural' thing. What if she would break free from all the expectations in her life and give in to what her heart is really feeling-- and that is speaking her mind and following her heart. She look at Luke, and hope he was the one in Henry's place. That Luke was her boyfriend instead. If only she could change her destiny now. If only she could find the courage to do it. If only she could..
Luke had also been thinking thesame. What if he break his golden rules and fight for the woman he loves? What does it feel like to see those beautiful eyes smiling and staring at him with love? What if he were in Henry's shoes? At what cost will he willingly pay for fighting for his love?

Can't wait for the next part. Don't run out of ideas. I write in a book, before I work on my computer. It is easier to put me into the story as if i am part of it.. Then your mind runs wild....
