EIGHTEEN

by Manoj Barman

Yes! I am eighteen
All my dreams are yet very green and clean
Yes! I am eighteen
They says, it's too early to achieve one's dream
It's the age definitely you will fall
It's the age definitely you will hurt
Even it's a perfect age to fall a hundred times
And learn how to stand again
It's a perfect age to start those dreams
Because you are eighteen
The love we thought would last forever
The friendship we believe that will ends never
Become only memories
We live this day like it's our last
We hope this day never been passed
It's indeed an awkward age
where nobody fear about the future
Sometimes we easily scared
And think, those years are the most painful
And we go through so many hardship
But once the time has passed
We remember the memory of someone's warm hand
That reached out to us when we fell
No matter what ordeal comes our way
We will get through it
It's okay if you are hurt
Because you are eighteen.
