Cutie Pie - A sequel

Dr. CH. Winters was an accomplished scientist at SETI, California. During his brief time as a researcher, he had received several important awards and accolades. But why did he choose to be a scientist who looks for extra-terrestrial life which most people consider "rubbish", "piece of crap" and useless?

When Mr. Winters first told his parents & friends about joining SETI, they clicked their tongues. Some of them even went to the extent of consoling his parents for their loss. So, when SETI, under the leadership of C.H. Winters captured ch- tsal (again!), there were many among his acquaintances who had their mouth wide open.

Mr. Winters often had dreams about this extra terrestrial being who came near him, helped him & played with him. When he told his parents about the dreams, they encouraged him at first. But as his age progressed and he still had the same dream, his parents turned a deaf ear to it. He had a tough time trying to convince them that the 'dreams' appeared so real. That was the time when he skimmed through volumes of old magazines and found the answer to his mysterious dreams. And that is why, when he got a chance to find 'Cutie Pie' from Quta Pi, he didn't hesitate. 

Ch-tsal was exactly as he had seen in his dreams. It was almost like meeting a long lost friend again. It's watery eyes blinked when it saw him.

When the senior scientists wanted to build a space for Ch-tsal which imitates the environment in Quta Pi, Winters decided against it. He was so sure that Ch-tsal would survive in earth's environment. If not, how would it have survived when it visited him? The other scientists smirked & pouted, but he didn't listen to them. They gave Ch-tsal green vegetables, fruits & everything natural available & conducted studies on him

Meanwhile, all around the world, CH. Winters had become the name of hope to mankind. He was named as a nominee for nobel prize.

There were Cutie Pie Dance challenges in Tiktok, Cutie Pie filters in instagram, Cutie Pie pies, t-shirts & a whole lot of official Cutie Pie Merchandise to choose from.

Ch-tsal was suffering, as he did before. Studies proved that it was the same creature who was captured years ago, since their DNAs matched. They also found that, back then, it was in an adolescent phase & once it matured into its adult form, it didn't age. This was a remarkable invention since the essence from its body could render us immortality.

The scientists started examining Ch-tsal's body fluids again, to be sure of their hypothesis. It was on one of those evenings that C.H. Winters went to visit Ch-tsal again. He looked at it, in awe and pride. There was no body in the lab, for they had all left for the day. Winters went even nearer to Ch-tsal. Suddenly, its feathers touched his face. Then, he could somehow hear the

creature. 'Yes, it is I' , said the creature. 'The one who told you stories of our kind & yours when you were small' It said.

Slowly, as if in a trance, he started to see what Ch-tsal did, back in the days when it was caged. It's feelings were his, its senses too. It showed him everything he had wanted to know. How, when he was just an year old, Ch-tsal came and talked to him... how It survived on cacti... and how it's mother came to its rescue...

C.H. Winters was teary eyed by this time "Why aren't you going back?" he thought. 'You could have used your whiskers... '

'Back then, I was a small kid. I was frightened & helpless. By now, I have become the head of our group.I came to Quta Pi in hopes of meeting you there.I wanted to meet you again. You were my only friend when I was suffering here in Earth. You had faint memories of us together. I visited you often in your dreams, but that confused you even more. That's when I decided to show myself to you and help you. You can decide to kill me or send me back... whatever your choice is, I would gladly obey...' Ch-tsal conveyed.

The following night saw a huge spaceship right near the SETI centre. To everybody's dismay, their Cutie pie along with the head scientist were missing. It is said that studies are still going on to find where they are. Some say that the scientist is on the run with  Ch-tsal, and that he was trying to smuggle it to some african buyers. The others say that the scientist has received the wrath of God, for he captured an innocent being and conducted studies on it. Nobody seems to know the truth, except CH Winters and his childhood buddy...
