Beauty is not within...

As a girl,
I was made to believe
That beauty is not within,
It's not fat, but being thin.

As a young woman,
I was made to believe
That beauty is not within,
But it's your fair skin.

It's only in theory
That beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
But the truth is otherwise,
Whether you are young or older.

In this superficial world,
We are all made to believe
That it's beauty and not character
In life: we should achieve.

To the eye,
One's looks may appeal
But in the end,
It's all about the feel.

Let us understand one thing,
That a book cannot be judged by its cover
And no matter what you think about your looks,
You will always be beautiful
in the eyes of your lover.
