Baby Angel

There are different ranks of angels in Heaven. Seraphim, Archangels, Cherubim, and many and many of them that even the books or the churches cannot identify many of them. Each rank of angel also has their own function and duty in Paradise. Of course we are already familiar of the Archangels like Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. We are also having our own guardian angel and their duty is to watch over us. But the sources don’t mention another kind of angels. These are we called baby angels. Baby angels are similar to cherubim. But the functions of these baby angels are to go down to earth as humans. So you could say to yourself, before you are born, you are once baby angels. Every year, billions of these baby angels are going down to earth and to be born as humans. But the problem is they can’t choose their place, their parents, and the date when will they bear as humans. Only God and their teachers can do these. It depends on the evaluation of their grades by their teachers; this is also another rank of angels in heaven, whom they are called teacher angels. If baby angels have high grades, the baby angel will go to a rich and educated parent, while a baby angel can go to an average parent if the baby angel has average grades. But if a baby angel has below average grade, it goes to parents with miserable life. The criteria will base on their behavior, knowledge, wisdom and their obedience to their teacher angels and especially to God.

This is our story, and our central character is Odiel, one of the billion baby angels in heaven. Odiel is the most above average of all baby angels. The teacher angels and especially God was pleased with Odiel. Odiel was also very liked by his fellow baby angels. One thing is good also of Odiel is by helping baby angels who are below average to cope with teacher angels’ lessons so that they too will become above or average angels. One time, Odiel is thinking, he decided to talk to God personally. Of course, Odiel has no problem with this because he is pleasing in God’s eyes. He called God and God answers him.

“Yes Odiel, what can I do for you?” God said to Odiel

“Sorry to bother you Lord God, but I was just thinking something, and I want to ask you”

“Speak Odiel; your Lord God is listening”

“I was thinking Lord God, because I feel sorry for my fellow angels who are below average, because they told me and they are upset that they will be born to parents with miserable life. They also said Lord God; they don’t want to go anymore to earth, because what if they are also living in misery like their parents. Besides Lord God, according to our teacher angels, life is cruel and many humans are foolish”

“Do you worry about that Odiel?”

“No Lord God, I suggest, what if there will be no more miserable life on earth. All humans on earth will be equal in many things. No more poverty, misery, war, and famine. I believe Lord God; you can make earth a better place.”

“Odiel my child, the way you say these things, you are judging my creation. Are my creations not pleasing to you?”

“No Lord God, I just want to make the earth a better place to all baby angels, from above to below average baby angels” Odiel ask God.

“Odiel, my child, don’t think about such things. Earth is better and beautiful place for all baby angels like you. And I don’t make humans miserable with their lives. I always have big eyes to watch them and my angels to take care of them. As long as they follow my commandments and they live with me in their heart. But the problem with some humans, I am not in their heart. They don’t also follow my commandments. Instead, they are doing things that are unpleasant to me. They found favor with their imaginary gods. I am so sad with this people. They have eyes but blind. They have ears but are deaf. Do you think Odiel that I am not sorry with these humans? If only I can help them, but their hearts are far away with me. Odiel my child, life on earth is not always happiness. There are many challenges and trials. But these trials are only temporary. All humans experience this, even if rich, poor, full of wisdom or ignorant. It is my test to them Odiel, like gold tested through to furnace for its value. Don’t think Odiel that Earth is like Heaven. Earth is only temporary place for humans. Their real home is in Heaven."

“If you love all humans Lord God, why then they are not equal” Odiel ask God again.

“My child Odiel, it is not me whom I categorize each humans. I don’t even make some humans to live in misery. I only give them free will. I am only thankful that many humans choose to have a free will to live with me to be the center of lives. I love all humans on earth whoever or whatever their life is. It is I whom I made them. But not all humans love me. Instead they love what is pleasure to them like riches, fame, power, money and position. Their hearts are far above me. They don’t believe that I am the only God of real happiness. That is why when trials and tribulation come to their lives, they easily give up, and they never go to me asking for help and their heart is far away from me”

Odiel don't say a word for a few minutes. He has still many questions that playing on his mind. But he will just ask God some other time.

A time has come for baby angels to go to earth. Each depends on their grades. The Low Average grades baby angels are now on their way to their destination, to parents who are poor and have miserable lives. The Average baby angels will go also on their places. And lastly, the Above Average grade baby angels will be lucky to go to respective parent who is rich and wise. But Odiel, an above average baby angel, back out. He didn’t proceed with the fellow above average baby angels. Instead he went again to God so that they can talk.

“What is it Odiel my child, and why you didn’t go with your fellow above average baby angels?” God ask him.

“I am sorry Lord God; I know it is a privilege to have parents who are rich and educated. But I choose to have a life with parents who are poor and miserable.” Odiel tearfully request to God.

“Instead of living a good life on earth, I want to help my parents to let them know you as a true God. I want to tell them that only by loving God and obey his commandments, my parents will never experience poor and suffering. As long as I am on earth Lord God, I will always love you with all my heart.”

“Odiel my child, it is a very noble decision. I salute you for this and you found favor with me”

“And Lord God, I am not afraid of challenges and trials that will come in my way while on earth, like what you said, your eyes are big enough for all humans to watch them and care for them. Lord God, I believe, you will never live me in times of challenges and tribulation. I know you will take care of me” Odiel said to God.

“Alright Odiel, I bless you for this, take care my child” God said to Odiel.

And Odiel is now on his destination to earth. He is delivered to parents who are poor and not educated. They live in some slum area in the Philippines. Of course, Odiel will never remember that he was once a baby angel on heaven. But God takes good care of him and always with him. Odiel grow up as a person who is wise, full of wisdom, and a good person just like what he was in heaven. Odiel help his parents and earthly siblings with favor from God that they will overcome poverty, and he succeeds. His parents are also God fearing and pleasing in God’s eyes. Right now, his name is no longer Odiel, but Dr. Dale Olivarez, a respected doctor in their slum area. Dr. Olivarez has live a good life with his own family until he aged and died.

Again, he is in heaven with God.

“Welcome back Odiel, or Dr. Dale Olivarez on earth. You have lived a good life; you are pleasing in my sight. And here you will stay on Heaven forever.” God said to him.

While observing Heaven, he is looking for his friends and fellow baby angels. But he only sees few of them. What happen to others? He asks God about this.

“Some of them still on earth, living. But many of them who died didn't go back here. While when they on earth, they didn’t pass the trials and tribulation that come to them, they didn’t follow my commandments, and their hearts are far from me.” God answered Odiel.

“What happen to them?” even if Odiel already knew the answer, he is still bold to ask God.

“To the place where they don’t want to go” God’s answer to Odiel.
