PROLOGUE :

It’s winter.

Piece by piece my teardrops starts to flow from my eyes.

The snow is accompanying my emotions.

I’m sitting on a bench under a cherry blossom tree, waiting for him to come.

Seconds,

Minutes,

and hours passed but not even a shadow of him showed up.

I composed and force myself to believe that he will not come and I should forget him.

I stood up and stared at the cherry blossom tree whose now filled with snow, remembering those romantic memories that we have shared.

But now, it became my worst nightmare.

I wiped my tears before I turned my back to that tree leaving those sweet memories and laughters behind.

Im heading towards my car when somebody shouts.

“Miss!”

I looked back and tried to look normal but confused.

“Yes?”

I saw a man wearing a light blue shirt paired with a faded jeans. He was wearing a pair of eyeglasses which made his face looks even more cute.

“Is this yours? I just saw you earlier sitting by that bench so I supposed you own this one.”

He’s walking towards me and handed me my hanky. Geez! How am I supposed to be so clumsy!

“Ah yeah. It’s mine. Thank you.”

I took my hanky from his hands and bowed before walking away. It didn’t took me a meter of walk when he called my attention once more.

“Miss!”

I stopped my feet from taking another step but I didn’t look back at him.

He continued talking.

“Don’t frown nor cry. Smile, because you are beautiful when you smile.”

I frozed. Trying to process those words inside my mind. I turn to look back at him after realizing it’s thought and smile.

“That’s better.”

He mouthed and smiled.

I waved at him and mouthed , “Thank you” and walk towards my car.

For the first time after a long time, I smiled, a true and genuine smile.

Before I started my car, I looked back but he’s gone.

“When will I see him again?”

I whispered and drove the car, thinking and dreaming for a new sunlight of my life after that rain.
